How the hell do you spend over twice what the gun is worth on UPGRADES?! Or do you mean real scope/RDS's and external stuff too like receivers and front ends?

In a year I spent about 1200$ in upgrades and external stuff on my FRANKEN TROY CARBINE. Last edited by zone 69; February 7th, 2008 at 05:58.. |

Do yourself a favour and make sure in between a $300 pistol here and a $1000 rifle there, you go out and spend the money to get yourself a few sets of bdu's. Can't go wrong w/ having a set of woodland and desert in your closet in addition to whatever highspeed stuff you want.
Reason I mention it, alot of newer players go hog wild on the guns etc, and then when it comes time to attend an event start bitching about the uniform req's "but i only have multicam/cadpat/tigerstripe" etc. |

Good point Kokanee. The best part is: BDUs are pretty much cheapest bit of kit. Unless you have, o say, 8+ sets of it.

I know I have spent far too much on this hobby (and my others), but I refuse to keep track of it. It would take the fun out of it if I added it up and thought about all the more productive things I could have done with the money.

In the last 2 years I have probably dumped easily 15k on airsoft. And I don't regret a penny of it. This sport is the shit and I am sure I will be spending more. Hell I just built a Custom full metal Noveske CQB last week which cost over $2000. I think the airsoft addiction is as strong as any other addiction known to man. haha

Spring, spring guide, and batteries and mags, if you can include those in there. So like $30 without batteries and mags, and $160 including them. Gotta love the AUG . |

Well, there are performance and cosmetic upgrades. Your 'extras' were basically mild performance / reliability upgrades, and are pretty cheap. Most of my upgrades to date for my M4A1 were to convert the gun to a C8. I installed those particular gears not for an upgrade, but because I blew the stock TM gears and wanted to get good quality torque-up, reinforced gears to avoid problems down the road. I still plan on adding some internal upgrades like Systema piston, spring guide, piston head, cylinder head, nozzle and tappet plate. Probably will add a Systema high speed motor down the road too. That will be another sack of cash down the road. lol

after 7 years I've blown the 15k mark.... then got fedup and sold most of it only to get into something worst.... If you think airsoft is addictive and expensive do NOT even consider touching real AR's....... 310$ for a scope mount, at first you choke up then it only becomes normal.....then the GF desides she want's a EBR kit for her springfield m1a.....
