Where is it alright to play airsoft?
So I have a couple of my friends and I who intend on playing airsoft. My friend hosting the event lives on a large acreage with a small portion of it being grass and flat land and the rest pretty much being covered in thick trees.
The different acreage homes and spread far apart and I neighbors may not be a problem. BUT are we allowed to bring our guns out on to his acreage and have a war? My friend already knows to notify all his neighbors weeks before the event and to frequently remind them every couple of days and until and on the day of the actual event. We don't want any confused neighbors... We all have clear guns orange tipped. So they don't necessarily look like REAL guns. Any thoughts? |

Is it within city limits? If no then maybe. If it is within city limits then no.
Is everyone that's around that could be around OK with it? If so then maybe. If there is even the slightest chance there's someone that's "anti-gun" then seriously reconsider. I suggest you go to trek or whatever and play there. It's a lot safer and it's actually zoned for such activities so there's no problem for you guys. NOTE how I said maybe and not a surefire yes. There still is a chance of shit hitting the fan.

If the neighbors are all okay with it and it's out of the city limits then i say go for it man, although there are still risks to consider unfortunately for you.

Basic rule of thumb: Don't be fucking stupid, use good sense, and always assume ANYONE that can see you WILL see you and take the WORST possible interpretation of what you're doing.
I personally know of 12-year olds that were taken down by SWAT because they were playing with NERF guns and a neighbour called the cops saying kids were running around with guns.

EVERYTHING will be fine....we have two months of preparation ahead for my friends and I and were going to make sure EVERYTHING is crystal clear... neighbors, clearance, rules and responsibilities. |

Well, sounds like you've got it planned out alright. If it's a fairly open area, you would barely be able to know it's airsoft being played anyways, unless you knew what airsoft was. Best of luck to you!

wow in this entire thread only 2 AVed people spoke, and for the most part they where the only ones to give proper advice
even if the neighbors know, make sure the cops know. seeing as its on privet property, it SHOULD (not is) be ok, but like others have said bad things can happen if your not prepared
