Metal Kits

Hey, I'm new to the GBB world, so I'm still learning here. How much do metal kits and slides ususally run for, in-country of course. Specifically for the TM P226? From what I've found, they are about $150~ Is this correct?

Thanks

I got my Guarder P226N kit for $300 or so...I was quoted $500 for a PGC kit.

At least $4-500 for one that doesn't look like it was carved out of soap.

Dude, if you've found one for $150 - I'm all ears! XD

$300 is the absolute cheapest I've found so far... I'm pretty sure it was Guarder - i.e. not that great in terms of GBB's.

I didn't find it, that was just the CAD price on Redwolf which I figured was way to low considering the state of Airsoft in Canada, the price difference etc. Thanks guys! I've decided on my pistol, time to save

I know you mentioned finding something local, but just to throw it out there.

PGC-----> http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=12400

Guarder--> http://www.dentrinityshop.com/pr_details.jsp?pid=9065

I am unfamiliar with airsoft laws in Canada, I don't know if you are able to purchase these or not. I am looking into these myself and saw your post.

You cannot import pistol frames into Canada.

You also can't import short slides, not sure if the P226 is short enough to be prohibited.

The 226 is a full size pistol.

Agree. Also with the poster that Styrak is quoting in his post, Twin - don't even try to import a pistol frame, or else I will demand that the ASC staff add a "official chairsofter of Op-For" as a tag under your name, lol. Wait, that's not related - oh well

I had no intention of importing anything, I know the laws :P Besides...I'm no chairsofter :P

And Saint_blackhand, I see no reason since this is merely a question about prices.

I got an Action slide & frame for $200 I believe last year. Was decent enough, even though the plastic was sturdy enough the metal quality of the Action kit impressed me.

Sorry for the double post, but I have a few more questions. With a race gun, what do compensators do besides esthetically look good? Is there a difference in gas usable between a plastic and metal slide? Thanks

Compensators allow for the installation of longer inner barrels. This increases accuracy and muzzle velocity (assuming you use a tight bore). So it offers the ability to install performance upgrades! Other than that, it doesn't do anything lol.

And a metal slide will cause increased gas consumption. Although if properly installed, this can be minimized so that it is still quite efficient!
