Airsoft QBU-88?

Has anyone seen an airsoft version of the QBU-88 (type 88; DMR used by the PLA)? Last time I checked I think there was one by RS?

If it's anything like their SVD, upwards of $1000 probably close to $2000 CAD T-T

If you pay $2000 for a RS SVD in Canada these days, you're paying more than you need to.

As for the QBU-88, can't say, I don't think anyone outside of RS knows the price yet. It does reuse the Type 97 Series gearbox, so in theory there should be some saving in developmental cost and that should translate to a somewhat curtailed price.

Incidentally, it is like the SVD in that it's a special order item. So's the SAW variant.

It's a nice gun, solid like all other RS guns and very intimidating. Wasn't that big on the scope, eye relief was a little short when you account for goggles. Also, not being that big a fan of bullpups, the SVDs felt better in my hands.

Music to my ears. I'm still hoping to get my hands on an SVD.

I noticed that while you can link to the page directly (as Conker did), it's no longer listed in the "Upcoming Products" section... bad omen?

lots of rumour saying that this type 97 is a GBBR(see the official site) or an AEG( see the pix from SHOTSHOW).
who knows?
just clarify one thing: type 97 is the export version of type 88,the only difference is the calibre that has been modified from 5.8 to 5.56mm(.223)

Conker must've found it using site map, it's the only place I can find with a link to that page. http://www.realsword.com.hk/sitemap.htm

RS is in the process of updating its page with its 2010 stuff, so a lot of the new/upcoming stuff hasn't been linked or even posted. The Type 97 SAW still isn't up, neither are the M4/16s. There's no bad omen, just slow website work.

I've held it and been briefed by RS on it.

It's an AEG.

I'm gonna go ahead and derail my own thread to ask: Saint, why aren't you a moderator/staff here anymore?
