GBB Pistols : Metal Slide or Plastic Slide?
Hi guys, I just got a KJW GLOCK 27 metal slide today as an side arm for my vest's cross-draw.
What's the difference between metal and plastic? I know metal sounds better, but is it more durable then plastic? |

Hell yes. Also means more gas consumption and therefore less shots per mag. Also means more felt recoil.

The ka-clink sound of metal slides sound a lot more satisfying than with a plastic slide. They are more durable, and add more heft to the pistol. However, plastic slides will cycle faster, and may break when used with propane gas.

Can't fix my own guns. Willing to fix yours.

plastic cycles faster, uses less gas, and kicks less so you can shoot more accuratley in follow up shots, and metal is more awesome, the KJW G27 is snappy and has a large gas reservoir so it will be fine, I have one of my own and love it

Plastic slide cycles faster and uses less gas. Pros on it is you don't need to buy spring upgrades. If you get a metal slide, you need to get stronger recoil spring.
But Pros on the plastic is that it won't wear your glock frame. Cons on the metal is it will wear down your frame and your slide. |

Ah shit...
How long does it usually take before it wears down? I am guessing when it wears down it would just start to preform worst then before, its nothing too "sudden" right(as in part flying off, etc)? |

Never had a plastic slide but I was told when I picked up my side arm to just go metal as the plastic slides tend to break when using propane.
I have put alot of rounds through my KJW G23 and have seen no issues with the metal slide wearing anything yet. Plus if you really want to I am sure you could pick up plastic slides dirt cheap as everyone seems to not use them when a metal is available |

Off topic, but can i get one without my AV, I just got a Aftermath Lycaon and i'd like a pistol for back ups when i get AV'd. (I'm getting AV'd ASAP but its hard when you don't have a vehicle)
