Hicappa + Serpa = ???

Hey ASC, so I'm looking for a holster for my 5.1 TM Hicappa. My question is, I heard that you can use a serpa with some minor modifications. Specifically the trigger guard is larger correct? IIKC, you have to modify the glock version. Has anyone done this with success? How difficult is it to do?

Thanks

There was a thread posted in the gear section about a week ago that listed all the compatible holsters (serpas incl.) for the 5.1,4.3,3.8 hicapas.

I have a glock with a real serpa CQBthe type that doesnt cover any of the thumb rest/, The trigger guard on my hicapa is just less than half the width of the glocks. the next issue is the width of the grip, it hits the grip before the mag release even enters the holster.

Then the front sight puts pressure on the top side, and will cause wear if plastic. Because of where the front sight is contacting the holster, the trigger guard does not drop low enough to the guard lock and the whole gun weight is supported by the front sight and rail within the holster.

Seems like a lot of modification to me

I use a 1911 serpa that had the trigger guard area dremelled out a little. Fits great. If you saw off a inch or two off the bottom, a 4.3 hicapa will fit also. Or you could try a TK grip on your 5.1, it "may" fit without modding.

Thanks so much! So another question though, wouldn't it be hard to get inside the holster to dremel a bit out? It seems it would be pretty hard to get your hand and a dremel in there :P

That definitely works, I tried a TK gripped hicapa in a serpa just yesterday! It fit better than the WE 1911 that was previously in it.
