King Arms metal body compatibility?
I'm building a mk18 mod0, and I'm able to get a KA metal receiver for it:
http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/king-arms...ui-m4-m16.html Will it fit with this? Or will my threading/spacing be off? http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-mk1...4-m16-aeg.html And while we're at it, I was reading that someone couldn't fit their mechbox correctly in it, so would this fit? http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/gandp-8mm...ng-tamiya.html I'm seeing if I can get a G&P body, but if this will work, the price is right for me. Thanks! Google sucks!

it'll probs fit it - the king arms body is threaded for marui standard frontsets so anything marui compatible should work
Also The KA Body I had fit a variety of diff mechboxes with only a tiny problem - sometimes the selector plate is about half a mm out so safety is still on when selector switch is on semi - requires minor filing of the safety catch bevel levery thingy-ma-bob Also G&P bodies won't fit anything marui compatyible as far a s fronsets go - I tried and had to rethread the body :S

Well if the G&P body doesn't fit Marui compatible front sets, but the G&P front set will fit the G&P body, doesn't that mean it wouldn't fit the KA body, since is Marui compatible?

appearantly some g&p bodies come with uppers that have the marui compat. threading. You'll have to look at the specific body and enquire accordingly. I'm currently re-threading mine and it's a bitch on a stick...with carmel and nuts.

Well I'm being offered a KA body, I just want to see if the G&P front end will fit it.

And I just thought of this; if it didn't fit, couldn't I just replace the barrel nut with a Marui threaded one and I'd be good to go?

That G&P front set states that it is for marui M4 so the threading should be metric.
If the king arms body is a direct marui clone (which IIRC, it is and they refer to it as "for marui" on the ehobby website), then that front set should fit. |

The G&P front set does fit the KA body.
Both KA and G&P barrel nuts/delta rings are tight going onto new KA or G&P bodies (whatever combination); you may need an armorer's wrench or a strap wrench to get enough torque to screw it on properly the first time. It's just stupid like that, it's really tight and feels "stuck" somewhere along the way like the threading is wrong, but with a small amount of torque (like from the wrench; and I'm talking minimal effort) and it works past that friction area and keeps screwing on properly.

Awesome, thanks Drake. I'm getting an armorer's wrench in my pile of parts from ehobby, so that won't be a problem.
