I had a really crappy thread title so a mod changed it. Can I get some advice on G&G, VA and SRC armalite based AEGs please? Purple monkey dish washer
First off I would like to say hi and compliment everyone for such a great site full of(too much!)information. I am fairly new to airsoft and looking to buy a new gun. I already own a krakken ak-47 and am interested in aquiring an M4 or an M16 variation. I have been poking around this site for quite sometime now doing research and have come up with a few options. I would sure appreciate some insight and wisdom from you guys. Here's what I have it narrowed it down to:
G&G M4 CQB-R Full Metal, SRC M4A1 Gen.3, G&G M16A3 advanced or velocity arms V4A1 carbine. I'm not looking for the best of the best, but at the same time nothing cheap and something upgradeable that will last. Most of our games will be outside in the forest and I am also 6'3" tall so I was thinking a longer rifle would be better. Any help would be appreciated! |

If you get Age verified on this site and check out the classifieds you'll find alot better options than the ones you listed for around the same price or cheaper. M4's are hugely popular and there are always M4's for sale on the classifieds here.

Most everyone on this forum will tell you to get “Age verified” and buy from the classifieds.
You cannot import any guns from websites outside of Canada. Airsoft is a 18+ sport Sniping is not for newbies If you are underage please do not try to circumvent the system in place, its there for a reason. Nobody will help you get a gun if you are not age verified or underage Do not play in your backyard/forest or anything of the like. Only play on official fields. Please read the FAQ’s LINKS! FAQ's Please read How To get verified THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO USE OF ALL! Quote:
Also please name your thread correctly, with something related to your question |

RITZ is my hero
I dont think I ever got his famous welcome which makes me somewhat sad but yeah you should get age verified and check out the classifieds they have some nice guns (I just bought my first gun on monday from the classifieds and will have it next week ) also if I were getting an m4 I would look at ICS they have the interesting split gearbox and look like some good quality stuff |

DanoftheDead,
Thank you for the information.I'll bet there are some nice guns on here, but I am a firm believer in supporting local buisnesses. I was just trying to narrow my search. R.I.T.Z, thanks. sure hard to get good information. |

there is also a retailer section again once AV'd you'll be able to access most all of the local retailers you are talking about wanting to deal with. |

Strike off the G&Gs and keep it between the SRC and the VA. G&G guns seem to have compression issues with its internal compression related components. Dont get me wrong, G&Gs still function alright but I thought it would be fair that you were informed.
Come to think of it does anyone know what the base gun of a VA brand AEG is? There are better options out there than the brands you listed but if thats whats in your budget that is fine. There are also other options that have been previously mentioned by other members already and I hope you take those into consideration as well. Quote:

Damn, Tokyo that was your welcome? I'd think that'd be enough to scare off underage noobs... apparently not. (not saying that bighitbomber is)

TokyoSeven,
Thank you very much. I did not know that about the G&G rifles. I was kind of leaning towards the SRC just for the fact that it is LiPo ready. And since I'm an r.c. freak, I have alot of LiPo's laying around already! Hairu, Thanks, I will definately have a look at ics.... |

I did a little poking around cause I remember seeing a thread or two about it last week.
Another user had commented how poor quality G&G hopups were, I believe there was also a comment on the quality of their clear lowers and how they were weak and more prone to breaking than others.
