G&G Brand worth looking into? MP5SD6

Im just looking at purchasing a G&G MP5 SD6 over at buyairsoft.ca.

Recently I've been reading on forums that G&G wasn't particularly the best brand to go for manufacturing wise.

I've seen other brands for the MP5SD6 on several other sites.

Can anyone recommend anything?

G&G mp5's are fine but you want to replace the piston asap also...i would wait til your 18 and get age verified so you can look at the classified where there are a bigger selections of joy toys

I thought i read in another post you had to be a member for 2 years or so to become a verifier? You've been a member since 2007.

What siging up for ASC on 2007 when I was 16

From what I heard it's 2 years knowing the players around your area and playing airsoft in the community surrounding your area for 2 years and over. But I've seen a few avers under 2 years which made me question the staff but I got no PM respond for a while now.

Hopefully in the the future maybe I could be aver for Hamilton or at least someone else would like to volunteer to do it.

I have a G&G MP56D6, Its a good gun, very accurate, good ROF. But like Slow said, change out the Piston or you get like a 10 - 30 FPS variable. and the reason for this is the piston itself isn't all that well built, and the O-ring is waaaay to small for the piston.

If it's an o-ring problem, what does changing the piston do? You'd either need to swap piston heads, or go to Canadian Tire and buy a pack of o-rings for $1.99 and put one on that fits properly.

Really I've chronoed my SD5 and i got a -/+ of 7 at around 375 fps not saying the piston/cylinder assembly are good but it's not as bad as you claim

Just changing the o-ring dose help, but the piston head itself isnt that great ither its a shitty plastic.

And yeah it may not be that much of a differnce in FPS, but i have seen a differnce of like 20 before. and I have herd worse especilty out of the armilights

So if it's the piston head why is everyone recommending swapping the piston?

well for me the piston head is the biggest priority part to switch out, but the piston itself is poor quality the gears even seem to wear on it pretty hard. so if your changing one I would say change out the whole thing, Piston/head. But I would also say before upgrading just game the gun for a bit. no need to upgrade right away. sure it may not be super consistent, but until you have a feel for the game, having a better gun wont make much difference. My Mp5 is still completely stock, and it dose the job well enough for smaller CQB fields.

All in all I would say if your looking for a good gun for a good price the G&G MP5SD has done well for me. But looking back I probably would have bought this instead

ICS mp5 ,I believe locally here it goes for $389 so not much more cost wise then the G&G
