moving Battery to buffer tube

Hey guys/gals, I've done my research on how to do this and I haven't been able to find all the information I need. basically I know how to move the wiring from the front of my motor to the back but I don't know how or where to wire it for the buffer tube. I'm not asking about the type of battery I need or anything just how to actually do this. my KWA M4A1 did not come with a manual when I bought it so I dont have that as an option to look things up. please help!

You wire it like any other armalite that utilizes a battery in the stock, only that you route the wire out through the buffer tube. This means having the wiring enter the gearbox through the opening in the back of it (the hole below the spring guide). Inside the gearbox you will notice the channels meant to route the cables. The black wire should be routed straight to the same exit hole that it's currently occupying in your gearbox. The red should be routed forward to the switch assembly, and soldered to one of the terminals there. Be very careful to make sure that the wire stays as far away from the motor gear as possibe. I recommend a little glue unless the cabling is thick enough to stay in place by itself (Ø3mm+ cable). Have another red cable soldered to the other terminal on the switch assemby, and rute it down through the channel and out towads the motor.

There's a video just for this.

Also, for a battery in the buffer tube, IIRC, you'll need a LiPo, or maybe a stick battery with your stock fully extended.

You can get a Lithium Buffer tube from airsoftparts too.

I understand what youre saying I just cant seem to figure out where the wires go into the buffer tube. there doesnt appear to be any space for them. from what I can tell the buffer tubes only access is a screw that holds the actual thing in place and removing that would mean my stock would no longer be attached

The Lithium buffer tube has a small window in it. I believe the wires are supposed to go thru the lower portion of the back plate where the buffer tube is.

I know how to do that part though I'm talking about where do I wire it on the actual gun itself. How do I get the wires into the buffer tube

What about using 16AWG Teflon wire, which has a much smaller diametre than most other cables, and then filing a channel for the cables to enter behind the gearbox? It might be that you have a different body/buffer tube or something.

I just did this with my KWA M4. Rewire the gearbox so the wires come out the rear of the gearbox and then there is room for the wires to fit between the gearbox and the receiver towards the buffer tube. The sling plate will need to have a notch filed into it on the inner circle to allow the wires to pass through and the buffer tube if it doesnt have one (mine didnt) will need to have a "channel" filed into it, like a little pathway for the wires to sit in so when you slide the buffer tube on it doesnt pinch the wires. Then the little plate with the screw that goes in the buffer tube to hold it on will also need a notch filed out so the wires can pass that. Then your on your own from there.. I soldered a small extension to the wiring and am running my battery attached to the outside of my stock until I order my buffer tube lipo.

Hope this helps, pm me if you have any questions about my explaination.. kinda hard to describe, but once you take the gun apart and start the project it starts to make a lot more sense. lol.
