m4 Ebb
I Have a Top Tech M4 EBB. I am looking to replace the body, because of the mediocre receiver markings (Delta SFOD) and the Made in Taiwan, that is prominently displayed on both sides. I have a Noveske free float barrel, and complete Magpul hardware, Stock, fore grip, hand grip etc. Along with a few other things Ive done this rifle is one of my favorites. Can I change the body to a G&P? Can I retain the blowback and forward assist feature with an aftermarket body?

I see. I really have to change the body, the markings are breaking my heart. Could I get the body to fit If I disabled the blowback and forward assist? Ill give those features up in exchange for cooler markings.

Can't fix my own guns. Willing to fix yours.

you would have to completely replace the mechbox, because the blowback is built in to the mechbox, with holes to reroute gas and all that sort of stuff

Mine is a pneumatic blowback. does that make it any easier? I dont mind a little modification, but if its not going to be 100% solid, then Im going to need some fresh ideas to fix this issue.

you could always refinish the body and fill/sand down the markings, get a stencil and make your own or hire an engraver or do it yourself if you're that handy.... Just a thought. It sounds like replacing the body isn't going to be easy.

Thats probably the best way to go. Or I could just get a bodie and shoe horn everything in there and file, and sand until its perfect. Any other tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

I know that there are a lot of different thread on this kind of thing here in the upgrade and modifications area. I'll be honest I'm too lazy to look. There is also all kinds of how to vids on youtube for this. I'd avoid doing engraving yourself unless you've got a tattoo artist's steady hand though.

Im going to have to do some research, This rifle is a decent performer, but in shines in the looks department more than anything. Engraving is a tough thing to get right. Im going to get a metal body for this thing hell or high water. Thnks DOTD for the input.

modifying a standard aeg body to fit the blowback unit is NOT for a beginner. It's not even something that an experienced Gun doc is capable of. I wouldn't risk permanently damaging a $250+ new body. Keep researching and try to find one made for that gun.

No worries, good luck on your search. On a side Note getting AV'd might help there are all kinds of things being sold in the classifieds. You never know you might find it right here...

What about just a lower? Is it conceivable that a lower is less work than the complete set? I could still get new markings, and not have to deal with the top half at all. Sorry I know there are a few threads on this, but I cant get a good feel for different options.
