SS226 Spring Help

Hey,

I was taking apart my SS226 to replace the clear lower receiver with a metal one I got. And as I usually do when taking apart my airsoft guns is photograph everything I do and make little diagrams for myself so I don't forget where pieces go.

Well just my luck, one of the springs popped out and I can't seem to figure out where it goes. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.

I just don't understand how it goes in there. I know it's purpose. To release the hammer after a shot has been fired, but just...how does it do that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's held in there under it's own pressure. The SS226's spring is built poorly and can't torque itself in to place. You'll literally need to use your third hand to hold it in place as you put the grip on top of it to cover it. Expect it to pop out many times before you finally get it in place.

The open hooked part hooks under the trigger bar... it's purpose is to keep it pushed up so that the sear can be pulled, NOT to reset the trigger.

The looped part goes against the "ledge" on the side of the receiver.

The circle at the fulcrum goes on to the round bump on the receiver.

It's another thing (among many) that annoys me about that clone.

Is it possible that I am missing another piece or spring that may have popped out also because this doesn't appear to work for me.

Using your own pic...this is where the spring goes. craptastic drawing, eh?

The orientation is exactly as you have it in your first pic of the spring itself.

...the hook (top leg of the spring in your pic) goes under that bar (if there is a hole in the bar...it DOES NOT go into that hole)...the "loop" (bottom leg of the spring in your pic) just sits there.

The whole thing just "sits" there and is held in place by the right grip panel.

All you need is the receiver, and that spring.

The round part (fulcrum) goes on the round nub on the receiver. The hooked end hooks under the trigger bar, and the looped end rests on the ledge. That's all there is to it.

In a Marui, it will stay still on its own. But with the SS226 model, it won't hold in place on it's own, so you're going to have a fun time getting the grip on without having the spring pop out of place and potentially getting damaged by crushing.
