Piston Head Installations

I took my gun apart about a week ago and cleaned all my gearbox and bought a new piston and piston head. I can't remember for the life of me how to assemble the piston head onto the piston. Any help would be good... Cheeers..

thre's a screw inside the piston body.... just unscrew it, and piston head will come off

Likely there is a bearing, etc. in it, place piston head on piston, drop in one thick washer, then bearing, then other washer, rop in T shaped plastic jobbie, position in center of washers and bearing, insert screw and snug down.

don't forget your blue locktite. A drop on the screw thread will go along way. Blue not red. That's important.

oil should stay away from hop-up rubbers It's a system that works on friction, oiling that makes it not as useful.

But the hop up breech SHOULD be lightly oiled just to prevent jamming, so it's a toss up after the gun is assembled and put through use. Tough call on it all, I never had any problem with having a slight bit of oil on my hop up bucking, but have had maor problems with jamming, largely due to dusty environments. So first install, Q-tip and a wipe around the breech end of the rubber, around the outside to help set it in the hop up unit, then leave it like that.

Second this, The Modify Piston head you have is the one I got in my gun ,and I suggest you use that blue locktight glue from home hardware. This is because the screw that holds the head and piston together isn't long enough causing it to come loose.

Just put some locktight glue around the threading of the screw and screw on and it should be good.

I don't know if you read this or not but this is the only problem I know many people including myself have had. Other then the screw though,a great purchase and upgrade part!

No prob. A fresh rubber tends to bunch up during installation, which could lead to either ripping, or air leaks. So oiling the outside of it really helps.

Im sorry but any oil or grease of any sort will reduce the consistancey of the magnus effect applied by the hopup therefor reducing shot to shot consistancey. Every AEG and Spring B.A I have owned, I have washed the hopup rubber with mild detergent and warm water to insure that any lubricant is removed from the hopup rubber. To date,no jams to speak of.
