Okay...where are full black guns coming from?

I think I've got a fundamental misunderstanding of Canadian laws that I'd like to have cleared up.

As I understand it, buying and selling full-black airsoft guns is not restricted by anything more than age and our self-policing with AV. What's illegal is the importation, for sale or personal use, of full black guns. I've even heard that clearsoft isn't exempt to confiscation.

Because no one in Canada manufactures full-black airsoft, in theory, then, there shouldn't be any full-black airsoft guns available in Canada.

So where are these guns coming from? Discounting the ones that individual players smuggled across the border, I mean. Many retailers on this forum sells full-black guns, Chix for example clearly sells American imports (orange tip present). Whose daughters did these retailers have to take to Chuck E Cheese's, so that they could import contraband?

EDIT: I've emailed Chix to ask for clarification; in the meantime I decided to post here and see if others can weigh in. Previously, when I emailed Capital Airsoft to ask why they don't carry certain brands, they told me it was because it was illegal to import the full-black guns. I neglected to ask how the other guns they had were legal...

EDIT AGAIN: Before people flame the crap out of me I went and dug deeper. What do you know, the answer's right there in a frequently linked page.

But, the question now changes to: is the up to $1200 import license the reason why retailers only import high-quality guns and then add a huge markup compared to American prices? Thanks.

They can be legally imported with the proper paperwork.

Bingo. Because who wants to pay Canadian retail prices?

Another thing:
http://www.airsoftsociety.com/forums...etailers-1581/

This particular thread from a different forum is over 2 years old, I know. But ECA's website still guarantees no or very little seizures when ordering from then.

ECA is scamming people, isn't it :S

I remember reading up on THIS forum about how ECA is full of it and can't give half a guarantee about their guns being delivered without seizure. But considering in the thread I gave the rep called ASC out, the two obviously aren't on good terms...

There are posts giving more info on this in the Age Verified Discussion section. Go get a look at it.

-oh, wait. You're not AV'ed. Well get AV'ed then

As to your question, IIRC ECA charges you 150% of the retail price, plus a "special shipping option" and shit like this. They can't actually guarantee anything, they just gamble hoping it won't be noticed.
All this in USD, so you end up paying about 80-90% of the Canadian price, but still with a 50% seizure. Their website can show whatever stats they want, if they're compiled by themselves... Can you really take them as accurate? No.

Or that guy is doing some kind of viral pub for ECA, in which case, ITS A CONSPIRASSY!!!!! OH NOES

The flying monkeys bring them over. I think Tokyo7 controls them, but it could be someone else. If T7's posts aren't invisible to you then read them, I think it explains about the flying monkeys.

EDIT: Before 1998 you could get airsoft in without too much restriction but currently it's regulated due to some stuff happening. Right now, its better than it was a few years ago with a bunch of shit happening.

Also 5 years ago you would have been paying like $650 for a TM and maybe up to $700 for a Classic Army (and that was when they had absolute shit internals). .... Also ECA is talking out of their ass. I'm sure they've gotten shit into Canada before but it doesn't make it legal what they're doing and the person on the receiving end is the one that can get screwed because CBSA can get the RCMP (or local PD) to charge them. ECA's hands are clean because they're in the US so nothing bad can really happen to them. Also if they've had "1 or 2 seizures in shipping over 1000 guns" before like they've said then they admit that what they're doing isn't legal because it's obviously been seized, furthermore if they offer "seizure insurance" then they're blatantly admitting that what they're doing is illegal because the packages can be seized. Also I'm not sure if they mislabel the contents of the package but if they do then you can probably be charged with smuggling and some other stuff.

PS: I don't know too much about that Airsoft Society website but it seems like a crappy place to get info if theres that level of misinformation around, but I guess it's mainly because the members there aren't versed in Canadian law. Arnies and AirsoftRetreat are much better sites IMO.

So in a nutshell you just want us to give out information on importing the things (Which have been done in this thread, already. Proper paperwork and licensing) and make our system kind of moot?

Huh.

I have to tell you that even getting them for wholsale is more than they pay in HK or the US. A license to import is very very expensive, as in if do not have a full time job and have collateral to take out a loan with the bank forget it expensive. If you are a 18+ I suggest getting AV'd and then looking into your local retailers and the classifieds. Even if you don't ever buy a thing all those sections are where the fun/idiotic/sad threads happen or end up.

Wow.

I'm just gonna start thinking of this as the price I pay for public health care and good snowboarding.

The next question: paintball guns have higher power, more lethal ammunition, are cheaper, and mocked up to look like real guns too. Why are they freely available? I guess the argument is they don't look as realistic, but how's a housewife gonna know the difference? Canadian laws are so confusing.

Going to school in UK right now, no way to get AV'd till December. Also was lazy this summer and didn't end up meeting the guy. Very sad.

Please explain how they have higher power. Paintball guns run at 280fps indoors and a very few owners will let you run then at 300 fps outdoors.

Oh, seriously don't ask anyone on here why the laws are like that. Hell don't even ask the people who made them, they probably don't know either.
