WE products
I'm purchasing a WE P226 next week. Is there anything I should be made aware of? I don't see a lot of WE reviews, especially of the P226. Any and all info would be nice.
I have noticed a lot of folks talking about other WE products, but I'm happy with my AEG, not really looking into going for a GBBR. Even still, the more info the better.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

Maybe that's why there aren't a lot of reviews on it?

I'm not familiar with the quality of WE guns. So that's why I'm asking.

Read what people are saying: There exists no WE P226. WE does not make a P226. If you're buying a P226 it is NOT a WE.

GBBR = rifle P226 is a pistol and you confused someone using GBBR. WE GBBR's are built well. There are few complaints in the community with regards to quality since it's decent value for the pricing. WE pistols are a different story. I own a WE p14 (essentially a large double stacked 1911) It shoots great but the slide is loose laterally so it rattles against the frame when you shake it. Bought it at BW2 and know a few guys who turned it down for that reason but it has given me no issues since. Please post a link to WE's p226. |

Drake, I'm well aware that I've most likely been given the wrong brand name of the pistol (unless WE made one and didn't tell anyone). I'll find out what brand it is when I pick up the box.
Coachster, thanks for the info on WE products. That's the info I was looking for. Someday I might move from AEGs to GBBRs.

WE has traditionally been a cheap brand that are not high in quality.
that is old school wisdom and things can change as a company learns from their mistakes. i have never seen a gbbr so i do not know how they stack up. |

WE GBBRs are much higher quality than the WE pistols I've used. And the WE pistol I owned (about 1-2 years ago) was 100x higher quality than the same model one my friend owned which he bought about 2 years earlier. WE has to be one of the fastest companies for fixing their fuckups.
However, I'll still take a KSC pistol over a WE any day of the week. Last edited by AngelusNex; October 17th, 2010 at 11:56.. |

It sure does look like WE is on the curve of success breeds success. I have a WE pistol that runs as well as my TMs and KSCs, finish isn't as nice though, but the price sure was right.
On topic of the 226. A TM will be your best bet, tons around, lots of parts great function and reliable. There is a new flavor of clone 226s out there that seems quite problematic so read the pistol reviews here and check the Doctor's Corner for more on that.
