Aftermath Broxa MP5 Upgrade Help Needed

Hey guys, I have a friend who would like to upgrade the precision of his Aftermath Broxa MP5.

Out of the box, his gun fires near the 400 FPS range (never chornoe'd, we take it for what it is). He isn't looking to have a faster ROF, or more power. All he wants is to gain slightly more range and have some decent accuracy.. And honestly, that gun could use a more reliable bb trajectory. He usually only fire single shots, rarely any bursts.. He has a 3x scope mounted on it.

I recommended getting a silencer to hide a longer 6.03mm inner barrel, and a new hop-hup rubber.

Are those wise choices? (no point in flamming me over an Aftermath Broxa, first, it isn't my gun. 2nd, it's not his main weapon. 3rd.. please keep it to the point).

We aren't looking for crazy upgrades.. after all, as you've noticed, it's only an aftermath broxa!

So I was looking at the following parts:

- ARS AEG Hop-Up Rubber Set
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1772

- King Arms 80 Degree AEG Hop-Up Rubber Set
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1880

- Prometheus Air Seal Chamber Packing (Hard Type)
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=594

- Mad Bull 6.03mm Tightbore Barrel - 363mm
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=301

- Action LW 180mm Slim Silencer
http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1759

I've read something about longer barrels losing performance and stuff.. so I'm wondering if this applies all the time?
What are some things I should keep in mind if I do these upgrades?

Is there something better I can get to upgrade range/precision (for the approx same price)? (I would like to buy only from airsoftparts.ca as there is more stuff I have to order)

Also, is the Aftermath Broxa MP5 a Marui clone?

Thanks again for all the wonderful help I get on this forum.

ive been told of this performance loss when you dont have enough power to propel the bb out a long barrel it vacumms the bb back in but i do not know if this will matter with the fps the broxa has

if only one upgrade, up the hop up quality

and as the other guy says it is a cyma gearbox, and cyma clones tokyo marui, you can tell sometimes by the gearbox shell writing CM.02 or something similar on the side

the site seems to be closed but sounds good

my friend recommended me to upgrade with an scs rubber or systema for more straight flight and a

tightbore will always be good if you have the money, did you try heavier weight bb's as well they can sometimes bring in the accuracy

but as the other guy said if you could get a new hop up unit that would be ideal for better accuracy

Carefull when you are putting a new barrel into a Broxa. There is a little lip inside the outer barrel and if the new barrel is even slightly longer it will ruin your hopup.

I'm not too worried though, as I got a Madbull 6.03mm 336mm TB.
363mm over the stock 229mm isn't that big of a gap to fill..

It's my second purchase on that website, he just closed for maintenance. He's got lots of good parts; actually I've just learnt a couple days ago that the owner of the site is a member on this forum; his name is JUGGLEZ.. <- free advertisement eh..

While I'm pretty sure you know what you're talking about; the Prom. tb barrels are pretty expensive. we got a madbull; good price and I've heard they are up there with the good stuff in terms of quality. Might have spent more on a more expensive worthwile gun.

Wonderful advice, thanks! I'll keep an eye out for that, I'll make sure to measure everything first. I was under the impression barrels were pretty standard..

Thanks for all the good tips / Merci de votre aide

Yeah, we noticed that.. my friend 'dremeled' that lip out, so the 363mm long TB could fit.
----------------------------------------------------------

Anyhow, the mods went very well, the Systema Hop-up rubber fit perfect on the MadBull black python TB..

Unfortunately we came accross a little issue:

The threaded muzzle on the MP5 Broxa must be smaller than 14mm... because the 14mm CW/CCW suppressor is VERY loose! But I think we'll remedy the situation by getting one of these:

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/king-arms...mp5-a4-a5.html

I was surprised to see the flash hider wasn't a 14mm... seeing 14mm is pretty standard.

We still tested the gun... and it's mighty accurate now. we tested it at around 110-150 FEET away, and it consistently hit the right target :borg:. On burst fire, it's not even comparable to the stock crummy consistency.... I wonder how my friend even found his gun good before these minor mods.

Really? cause mine takes 14mm CCW with no wobble issue at all

Unfortunately the airsoftparts.ca website is currently offline until tomorrow.. but I am pretty sure the suppressor was 14mm treaded. It's the Action Lightweight 180mm Silencer.. Maybe the suppressor's threads weren't right.

Are there any other thread sizes for suppressors? because the male part of the threads on the suppressor actually touch the male part of the threads on the flash hider... Talk about being gay..

Yea the 14 mm threads on the broxa are not 14 mm they are actually smaller than that id say around 12 mm i had a silencer on mine to cover the inner barrel i put in, it was wobbly loose until it was at the end of the threads and then it tightened up and at a slight angle to and when i lent it to a new guy (not his fault) the silencer came loose and fell into 4 ft high grass lol.. never finding that thing again.. but yea broxa qaulity control is iffy at best. Still love mine though as a back up and indoor gun!
