Looking to upgrade motor but need suggestion!

As the title implies, im looking to finally ditch that crappy motor that came with my HK416.

But I am having trouble deciding whether i should get the blue motor

or the red motor

I was told that the blue one is a speed motor and the red one is a torque motor. Now i know nothing about motors and Correct me if i am wrong but i was asking myself isnt a torque motor same as a speed but just stronger? Im running a SP115 spring in my gun and the gears and piston have been upgraded to reinforced metal teeth. So yea just looking for some suggestions. Thanks!!

Negative. there are some threads already floating around about motors.
Speed motors pull weaker springs but give higher ROF.
Torque motors pull stronger springs but give lower ROF.
If you are pulling a SP115, I'd suggest a good torque motor.

I personally have a Guarder Infinite Torque Up motor and I love the trigger response.
Also heard really good things about the G&P torque motors.

I'd highly suggest looking at www.airsoftparts.ca for your motors

I've recently came accross the Jing Gong M-93 Motor, on a 400 fps spring I had to install a mosfet because the motor would spin enought to crank the piston back about half the way on semi-auto, and now, the ROF is awesome!

Okay thanks. I read that other post so it seems that the torque motors are the way to go?? Cuz im not pulling a high fps spring, just a sp115. Right now im using I think a stock CA sportline motor (my gun didnt come with a motor.....thats why) and im getting pretty fast rof. Its not like i can test the motor and refund it haha so i kinda wanna just get some feedback. The shop near my place only carries those two (the red and blue) motors so i gotta pic one of the two :P

High speed set ups are more prone to break, but hell, anything breaks if you run it hard enough. hehe.

Which shop are you buying from ? From what I'm aware of, not many places in Vancouver sell airsoft stuff. Theres Dave's surplus, Poco Military, and Warcraft Games that have store fronts.
well you can always order from airsoftparts.ca, they have a really good selection of motors ! well im assuming if a SP120 shoots 420ish, that a SP115 isnt that far off.
All the clubs in the lower mainland only allow 415 FPS, and OP-FOR only allows 400FPS.

Oh im buying it from airsoftgear.ca. the shop owner is also on op-for. And i just checked my spring is SP110; not SP115 my bad. So yea i think i'll get the speed one just for the hell of it.

Matrix makes cheap clone parts... Its far from an "upgrade"

TM Eg700 is my recommendation. Yes its a stock TM Motor, but it far surpasses the aftermarket motors availiable.

Fixed.

I love the EG700... but the G&P M140 (and higher) are amazing motors.

IMO Systemas are power hogs, and noisy as hell, G&P and Guarders are loud.

EG700 is one of the best all round torque motors out there and I'm a firm beleiver in em.

IMO, loudness of a motor isn't a concern, unless it sounds like it's breaking my internals . Performance is all that matters to me. My vote would go to Guarders or G&P motors, but each to their own.

Okay well i cant get a TM locally so no point in that. Actually....i can but used which i kinda dont wanna do that cuz iuno how its been abused. I'll pick one up when i go back to asia during winter break from college (plus its way cheaper back in taiwan and HK......)

Anyhow I read some reviews on that blue motor and the only negative thing i found out most people had with it was a shitty pinion gear. Lucky for my i have lots of thermal treated ones as spare So yea anyways thanks for all your inputs on this topic

Its ultimately your choice, but with matrix products, its really no better than replacing your motor with a shitty clone stock motors.

Element is also a low end clone company.

TM, Guarder or G&P is what your looking for if you want an "upgrade"
