RS type97/97b battery fitting and fast reload Modification

As the title states, I will show you how to modify your type97/97b and make it more effective in the field.

The major issues people been talking about are battery and mag release button, indeed they are a pain in the ass, but we can fix it.

1st issue, battery.
RS type 97's lower reciever is the same as it's real steel counter parts, very limited space inside, people has to use custom made battery for it, however, with the Lipo battery, it can be a quick swoop in the field if youbattery is dead.

take off the lower reciever, and you will see there is a polymer plate that covers almost half of the hole to the pistol grip, cut it off and your lower now should look like this.

make sure the battery can stick out from it

the battery I am using is a hot power 11.1v 1100mah 15c. been using it over a year and half, never have any problem.

2nd issue, mag release

this pic is the all the parts you have at the beginning, including original 97 mag release group, ambi mag release group, and two steel bushings.

this is all the parts you need for this work:

sand down both sides of the bushing so it can fit in the gap

and you need 2 of the bushings.

The ambi mag release I used is for AEG, you need to sand down the buttom of the pin so it can fit in the type 97 reciever. sand down the tip of the pin as well and use the type 97 mag button cut out the screw thread. The pin is made of aluminum or pot metal, very soft, use the mag release spring came with the ami mag catch so the steel button won't eat the screw thread on the pin

As the Ambi Mag release is close to the stock, so it won't accidentally scratch on you gear and drop the mag. I 've tested it on my RRV and 02 paratrooper vest.

Hope this will help with you type 97/97b user.

thread update,

The AABB GBBR Ambi mag catch can fit on it perfectly without any modification.
