ICS M4A1 Piston replacement
Hi, my cansoft ICS M4A1 had recently broken down and made a winding sound when it was shooting. I noticed when I looked into the gun that the piston looked very used and busted.
Pictures of the piston: Now, presuming that it was my piston that got busted, as it made a winding sound and all the other parts seem to look intact, I was wondering what would be a good purchase for a new piston for my ICS M4A1 Cansoft gun. For example, would this be a good piston to use and would I be able to use my rifle right away if I just got this: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1682 |

Alluminum pistons are garbage. Actually I have seen one strip through the course of one day with that exact gun. Get the stormtech.

So will this be the only purchase I will have to make to fix my rifle?

Could you show me a good affordable piston head as well?

Yeah, had the same problem with my Ics-47 as well, happened in the first week I had it !
Fortunately, my retailer got it repaired ! One advice I could give you for the future, don't press on the forward assist nob, if you could, it releases the spring tension, but could strip the piston ! If you have to open the gearbox, shoot a few times in semi-auto and then, press the forward assist !

How does the Stormtech piston compare to Modify's High Speed Ultra or Quantum piston?

Okay I bought the piston head and piston that was recommended to me! I hope this will fix my winding problem and I don't have to return it and can start playing asap!

The winding sound you heard what probably the last metal tooth breaking off and grinding your cylinder. Happened to me true story. I would check your cylinder as well for scoring/damage.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

I've run a prometheus piston for 2 solid years and around 200k rounds, still had 75% life, then I scrapped it through user error programming the triggermaster lol Running a system supercore piston now, it's the exact same style as the prometheus piston, but different type of poly. Word is they're the shit overseas, we'll see over time, but prometheus is field proven time and time again for me. |

I got the piston just today and the gun sounds great and shoots. The only problem is the bb's don't fly as far as they use too and have a unusual FPS pattern, as some go slower then others, is there a reason for this?
