Stripped 2mm Hex Screw

I have a VFC SCAR-L I have an issue with the selector switch. I am trying to take the gearbox out so I can fix the switch problem I have. I am not the origianl owner and bought it second hand. The problem I am currently having is that I have noticed one of the 2mm screws on the bottom of the grip (to get the motor out) is stripped. I see a circle where a hex should be. I have tried with no luck to extract this screw (dont want to make things any worse). Does anyone have any tips for removing a stripped screw? Screw extractors are too big. Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Purchase a strip screw drill bit set. CT has them cheap and they are very useful

Try Torx T8. It might be able to grab enough to remove the screw.

If not, either dremel a slot in the head and remove with a flat screw driver or get a screw extractor from CT.

Thank you all very much for the tips. I will give them a try and hopefully I can get this screw out so I can get my SCAR back into action.

Thought I would give an update on how this was resolved. Torx didnt work (to stripped), screw extractor was too big. I was suggested that I hammer a flat head into the screw and extract that way but I didnt hammer a screw driver in because I didnt want to damage something else. What solved the problem was a dremel. I dremeled a grove (with minimal damage) on the screw and used a flat head to get the screw out. If that failed the next step was to epoxy or weld a alan key to the screw.
