TM 1911 better than others?
I just noticed that the price of TM's 1911 is a bit higher than those other GBBs.
Is it due to the quality of the material that has improved its performance in range, accuracy or some other reasons like licensing issues.. Also I have seen lots of reviewers rate this gun definitely an A+++ gun,why is it good? you get what you pay for indeed. |

Because it's a TM, and TM pistols are amazing.

They're good guns stock. Because they're plastic they get great gas efficiency and they have a fantastic hop up. The real benefit to a TM 1911 is that they are upgradeable to a nearly infinite degree. WA is the only other 1911 that is comparably upgradeable, but they're generally even more expensive.
You can make the argument that TM clones are just as upgradeable, and they are, but KJW and ARMY metal bodies leave something to be desired, and have sloppy tolerances when compared to the original. I've owned a stock TM 1911, and currently own a pimped out shooter's design MEU, as well as an ARMY MEU/detonics, so I've got quite a lot of experience comparing them.

tm 1911 stock is better than any stock metal clone and the majority of upgraded to metal tm's in terms of performance.

Don't worry about the price listed in Japanese currency. Worry about the cost of one in Canadian dollars. All models are different. Its like comparing a BMW 325i and a BMW 335i and asking why one is more expensive.

(I know you don't want my lacking of AV, but bear with me, sorry) The only place I've found a TM 1911 they are twice the price of other 1911s at the same place. is it really worth it?

Twice the price of what specific brand 1911? If it's something that's a decent brand then probably not worth it.
ie. KSC 1911 might go for $250 and TM 1911 for $500. IMO probably not worth it for a student or someone on a bit of a budget. On the other hand if it's some cheapo clone 1911 (KWC, or HFC or w/e) for $150 or a TM for $300 then it's probably worth it. PS: Pulled these numbers out of nowhere. They're just example numbers. you need to find the price/performance ratio that's right for you.

TM pistols are better, that's why you pay more. If all pistols where equal players would not pay the higher price for them. Other brands have some good pistols but TM is consistently better, better engineering, better quality, they are tough and when they do break you can find the parts.
Other brands will clone TM engineering but the quality varies greatly, they break and the part that keeps breaking is usually hard to find. If your lucky you get a good one if not you keep repairing them hoping to match the TM. Thats why most players end up selling their clone and buying a TM. |

He's not asking about other company's GBBs he wants to know why it's more expensive than TM's other GBBs. I was not aware that it was priced significantly higher than other TM pistols overseas.

$500 for a TM 1911? On what planet? Closer to $300 these days. And worth every penny. Student or not. Think about it this way; spend $300 once, on a reliable kill-every-time pistol, or spend $250 two or three times for the same end results. It's worth the extra $50.

I noticed that part after I hit post, so I amended mine with the last prices I've seen.
