Tm .357 Python Gas problem
Sometimes I can fire off a few shots but on the next shot all the gas gets released out of the barrel. I took it apart and made sure to lube everything back up including parts inside the block where the gas is held. After some hours of trouble shooting I pinpointed the problem down to a piece inside the gas block that moves to allow gas to escape. Somehow, it is getting stuck. It is not because of the pin that pushes it back because the pin returns to it's resting position even while the gas is completely venting itself. I just can't figure out why the piece is getting stuck.
So here's the general inner workings, trigger is removed for now. You can see the pin next to the block that pushes the piece I was talking about. Now here are the parts inside the gas block. The piece on the left is the one that is getting stuck. I can move it just fine while there is no gas in it. Any help is appreciated. |

it's broken/missing a piece... the plunger end on the left theres supposed to be a thin post off of it into the peice on the right .. (I beleive that's how it goes anyways)
the other "end" of the peice is the cylinder plunger looking bit that is in the first pic that the knocker/lever presses to release the gas. it's a stupid skinny/fragile piece .. I managed to solder one back together but it's a Pain and delicate work. I remember seeing replacement/upgrade valves somewhere last time I was working on one... post if I find em again.

Thank you so much Reckless! Yeah, that thin little pin looked like it broke off (not designed very structurally now is it). I'll probably buy the new piece if I can't solder it back together. This was driving me crazy since I'm not the kind to give up on a problem like this, heh.
