no such thing as a decent m1 right now, the marushin is horrid for gaming, thirsty on gas... and the clips get lost.

IIRC though ICS was supposed to be releasing a AEG one....

If it's Marushin it probably has that awful double hop up system, so it will have a hard time hitting anything.

The Maurshin is garbage.
Your better off building one out of a M14 Aeg.

now that being said as Dart mentioned ICS is producing an AEG M1 Garand.

and there is rumor of G&G making a GBBR one

its been out of production for a while... or being produced in very small amounts. I was looking at them a while ago and I couldn't even find one as a wall hanger.

just be patient for someone to release something good. Besides 8mm BB is so... limited, less penetration through bush, and very limited and expensive ammo.

Less penetration through bush? but 8mm BBs are much heavier than 6mm ones.

Not true. Most are .34. 6mm can go to .43+. How ever simple physics. When the same force is applied on a smaller area the pound per square inch is greater. The same way a knife works.

I meant for the same density they are heavier, so they would have more energy.

yeah, but throw a pound of feathers or a pound of lead at someone. Guess which one will actually hurt. Shoot a 6mm bb and a 8mm bb at 400 fps and the bigger one slows down faster and spreads the force over almost twice the are when it hits. 6mm hurts more every time.

Marushin M1 is not garbage

I started playing airsoft since 80's, owned numerous Marushin products - M1 shell eject carbine GBBR, 1911Government & M92F shell eject GBBs, M1 Garand + M1 Carbine., T2 shotgun.
They all have very innovative design and works well as a collector's item. And most important of all, needed to be operated by the specified gas - H134A, green gas as stated in their manuals.

Its products are all well QCed and can hardly be described as "garbage". They are more ideal for re-enactment, target shooting and as a collector's item, rather than used in a game.

You can try the WW2 Ontario Airsoft Re-enactor website to see if they have any second hand ones for sale.

nope. 8mm hurts more.
the speed may decrease but the kenetic energy does not.
set up 2 chronographs. one at 10 feet the second at 20feet. say the first one will register at about 400fps the second will register less.
but if you stand at 10 feet get hit, and 20 feet and get hit the pain is the same its just the impact time is different.
