I assume we are talking about the WE Tech Scar. Had one, didn't like it. An AEG will preform waayyyy better than a gbbr, keep in mind mag capacity, reloading times (on field and off field), gun cleaning/maintenance. The WE Scar was also one of the first gbbr rifles produced by WE Tech, I think they have come a far ways since that. Lastly, WE Tech only produces a light scar version meaning 5.56 style mags, not the heavy 7.62 style mag version.

Thanks for the response, so you're saying the only good feature of a gbb in general is it's look and sound?

Advertizing for trades is against the rules i'm afraid. Or any form of transaction for that matter. Might want to edit that out of your post.

I think you need to consider that a GBBR sounds cool but there is way more maintenance involved. Also your costs for Green Gas/Propane is another factor. The gun will not have the same life span as an AEG. VFC has one of the best SCARs on the market. I would suggest keeping it but its your call.
The one downside is you have to use the VFC propriatary mags for SCAR-H.

Thanks guys, great answers. I think I'll hold onto the VFC as you have said. Almost all the people I play with have AEGs and the market is in favour of AEGs in terms of parts and accessories.

AEG vs GBBR, it's already over, there's no point.
Full auto fan are going to attack GBBR Realism fan are going to attack AEG There's no point in fighting, if you like GBBR get it, if you don't like GBBR don't get it. |

You just have to ask yourself what's more important to you: Realism or reliability and practicality? I had an WE SCAR b/c I thought having to pull the charging handle and hearing the sound of the recoil was the coolest thing in the world. Then I realized that I had to spend a assload of money on the expensive 30rnd mags in order to stay remotely competitive with AEGs. Factor that in with the fact that the WE SCAR is a high maintenance and unreliable gun and I eventually sold it.

The GBB vs AEG talk seems to be coming up fairly often. I personally have not had the greatest luck with reliability in AEG's. Most of my team has too. We tend to tinker a lot, so that is probably the main reason. I myself use very little ammo in a game. So little that I started considering a GBB. To get a GBB I would need to dump about $200 worth of parts to make it reliable. The mags are not cheap. I was pissed when I lost a $10 mag, I'd go ape shit if I lost a $40 one.
I would say stay with the AEG for now, and get a GBB later. Then you can easily see which you prefer. |

If money is not an issue, just get both. Game with the AEG and use the GBB to show off and do some target shooting.

ok this said i'll stay in topic I have a WE SCAR tan version and it is already in repair for many thing first the internal are not the best one on market and a lot of time i've hearded about WE SCAR losing their semi function and it happend to me on the first date I had it (not even a single round fired which is really sad) after if you consider the weight of the gun the AEG is better for that but you will get a different sounds from the GBBR one as long as you list what you actually want regards to your play style you will be able to get the best of both world Maintenance is nothing compare to the fear inspire from a GBBR firing at you from everywhere (I know a team who are only GBBR and they kick ass for sure :P as I play with them all the time) but if you only want the look and not the maintenance (for various reason) its your choice no matter what I say or other people say it is your call to make and not the one to other just listen to experience for the wuality of the gun and not the opinion because they vary from one to another on this if yu have question just ask away :P |

I myself run a WE Scar L and I have yet to have an issue, though have only been out a couple of times. In the process of upgrading it to be more reliable. In my book the maintenance is part of owning almost any weapons system and the real-steel break down and maintenance is part of the allure for me. If you want a game and forget weapon then by all means get and AEG. But for realism... GBBR is they way to go.
