Sidearm

Hey guys, I was looking to invest in a new quality sidearm, and I have narrowed it down to three choices. I will be probably using CO2 in either of them.
First is the KJW 1911 MEU
Second is the Sig Sauer P226 X-Five
Third is the KJW M9
Which one would go the furthest in terms of performance and reliability as well as ergonomics. I play about an even amount of Woodland and CQB so I need it to perform in both environments .

You've picked 3 very, very different pistols.

They each have different operating controls...(safeties/decock/etc...)

They each have different actions (single, double, decock)

They have different ammo capacities

They each have very different ergonomics (diameter of grip, trigger pull length, finger reach to controls)

So...in short...it's IMPOSSIBLE for someone else to tell you which is best for you re. ergonomics.

Past that...I'd recommend getting the one with the best gas capacity in the magazine (if you're going CO2 that's kind of a moot point).

Past that I'd go with durability....and personally don't think any of them are all that great.

But...unless you're picking a specific type of pistol to replicate what some military force uses (and it doesn't seem like you're doing that), then I would STRONGLY advise you to handle each type and get a feel for how nice/awkward it is in your hands.

Your choice of pistol should be based on two things - ergonomics and build quality.

The KJW KP series are excellent pistols - full-metal, nice finishes, and range of styles. I have their Hi-Capa 5.1, which is working well for me.

IF you shoot real steel, then ergonomics should come easily - pick the pistol that most closely matches what you're use to. For example, I shoot a Springfield XD and 1911A1 for the most part, so my choices for pistols tended to lean towards 1911/2011 (and variants) and Glock styles.

In the end, though, it's your call.

Go to a game and check what the people have as sidearms (usually, in a big game, you will find the three models you have selected), and ask them kindly if you can try them. When you think you have made your choice, ask the owners of this model (specify the brand) to have their feedbacks, positives and negatives.
After that you will have all the keys to make your choice!

I use a KP-05 CO2 and would never trade it for anything else.

Something almost more important than the gun type you are looking at is your power source. Doing a price comparison, when buying bulk, 12 gram CO2 cartridges run you about 75 cents each. A small propane cylinder will run you about $4.00 at Canadian Tire. The propane cylinder will give you, oh, about 500 times the shots as $4.00 in CO2 would.

THAT should be your first decision, then, as others have mentioned, get to a game and politely ask to see/try the sidearms you are interested in before buying.

one thing not brought up is the FPS of some of those pistols on Co2 ... if you get a propane/Green gas version of the gun and run Co2 mags ... it's not a sidearm anymore more often then not they end up running too hot

my choice if only those 3 were my opinions would by the KJW 1911 MEU, depending on which model it is it can be partially or 'fully' TM compatible parts wise. next up would be the M9 ... the sig, well I'd rather run a 300fps main rifle with Hicaps .. but that's just personal preference.

if you can get Age verified .. and bring your budget up another $100 ... you can get a TM pistol and kick all 3 of those pistols ass, and probably a few of the main rifles you'll encounter on the woodland field.

.
this is not the only calculation to make or I would have chosen propane. In the end my propane guns cost me much more money for much less gaming time than my co2 one, be it with replacement parts, faulty magazines, valve problems etc.

I would go for the M9 : easy to use, double action and most of all : adapts to almost everyone grip. You really need to have baby hands to not be able to use it.
1911 on the other hand the slide stop is very short and too forward for a lot of users including me.

Like every one said, go to a game for try it, get age verified and go get Ã* TM, kwa with ns2 system or at the limite a WE and you will be find. Propane or co2... personally i use propane (kwa just has propane gun :P) but i have nothing to said bad about co2. co2 mags or more reliable but the gun has more stress. propane mags have more valve like Jimki said but the gun will not have problems. It's a personal choice.

I've had a KJW M9 for about 2 years now and I have been very pleased with it.
It's seen a LOT of use in that time, and admittedly poor maintenance in the first year, and I have had 0 failures.
The mags have failed due to mistreatment by a friend (never lend out a GBB), but all were easily repairable.

I love Berettas, so I am heavily biased. That being said, the ergonomics seem to be squared up nicely for most human beings.
Some people find them chunky because of the width of the double-stack magazine, but where I have large palms and short fingers I think M9s are just dandy. 1911s are largely unusable by me for the same reason .
What Slide said about trying some out is absolutely critical.

These are functionally good guns, and I would have no problem recommending them.
Your best bet, however, is to get Age Verified so that you can check out the restricted sections of this website and see what else is available.

Once you've done that, do some serious research before you buy into a GBB system.
An airsoft sidearm may be cheap on it's own, but they quickly become expensive.
Mags are ~$50 a piece.
A propane adapter is ~$30.
A belt/ shoulder holster/ whatever is ~$30-$60.
Silicone-based oil ~$10.
Proper maintenance is weekly.
You need a 'float' budget of about $100 in case the sky falls and you need to go out and play but all your mags are busted and you need 2 more.

Once you've factored all of this in, the saving you get when buying a less expensive system like a KJW doesn't seem so big, since the extra costs associated with a GBB pistol are pretty much the same no matter what you get.

okay, so it sounds like my best bet is to get AV'ed. But if I do, which model would you guys prefer? I am an average sized teenager, but I have fairly large hands. I am really debating on the 1911 MEU or the Sig Sauer X-Five. Also what are the advantages to each. I want a reliable, and accurate gun, but i want it to fit really well in my hand (I am a right hand shooter). If i get the 1911, i can also use green gas mags, and i might be able to for the Sig, but I dont know if the X-Five, takes regular p226 mags

GO AND PUT THEM IN YOUR HAND AND SEE HOW IT FEELS.

Asking other people about their own opinion won't help you at all.
