Hopup help
Okay so i have a well l96 with a madbull 6.03 tightbore and i desparately need a quality hopup. However, im not sure what will work with my current barrel as some of the hopups(i.e. PDI) say they work with AEG barrels. I have researched quite a bit but to no avail.
If anyone knows a hopup and bucking combo that will work for me it would be more than greatly appreciated! |

Firefly makes excellent ones for about 30USD.

Firefly hop-up rubbers are outdated with the invention of the SCS.
And Airsoft Research Syndicate hop-up rubber combined with a Shredder's Concave Spacer is an absolute winner of a combination |

ill rephrase my question...

The hop up is designed for aeg cut barrels. I don't think the APS2 barrel is an aeg barrel but I could be mistaken. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help you with that. What's wrong with your barrel? My madbull works nicely
I know the APS2 is a bolt action system, I'm just not positive that it doesn't use aeg barrels |

Check out this thread I started, having similar problems. There's some good info on it for you. Hope it helps. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=122968 Otherwise all I can say is yes, you definately DO need an aeg barrel with the pdi hop up. I can't in good concience recommend the pdi hop up, as I had and am having trouble with mine, but if you can get it to work for you then great, and if so, let me know, and perhaps you can give me some pointers for mine to work better as well! Check out the thread I linked tho. Someone linked another hop up that seems good. Not as adjustable as the pdi, but simpler and more compatible... Also should mention, if you get the pdi hop up, use extreme caution when assembling and adjusting etc. Lots of very small pieces to go missing!

If I had the two barrels side by side rite now I could upload some pics for comparison, but pretty much I think, what the aeg barrel has is grooves in the right spot to make the aeg hop up rubber compatible, cuz the aps2 I believe has the grooves to keep it aligned on the opposite side. The aeg barrel also has flat spots for the pdi hop ups tightening screws to tighten against. The aps2 barrel does not have these flat spots. So really any aeg barrel will work. At least it should be safe to say any TM compatible aeg barrel should work.
Here's the one I got. http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=299. Its m16 length, wich is ten mms longer than aps2 length, so what I did is ordered a silencer adapter which screws into the end of the barrel, and protects the bit of tb that protrudes out of the end of the barrel. A silencer anyhow makes this gun much quieter, and in my opinion looks sweet... Last edited by airsoftjunky; July 24th, 2011 at 20:01.. |

Yeah I don't think 10 millimeters sticking out is a big deal

Perhaps not, but airsoft is all about realism is it not? And ten mms could still be really vulnerable to slight but critical damage it seems to me!
