TMP models?
Hi guys, I know I'm not AV'd yet, so I know you can't tell me where to buy and such. But anything you can tell will be nice =] I'll be AV'd soon so then I'll be able to know more =D
Anyways I was wondering if TMP models exist in Canada, if so what's the best brand out there? Are there any full metal ones, and can you get a silencer on it? I just want a silencer for aesthetics really, good ol' CSS lol Thanks a lot in advance =] |

Without giving away ways and means, yeah, they're here in Canada. Pretty much the only brands (as far as I know) are KSC/KWA, and suppressors are next to impossible to find. And they're not really "full metal", as the real thing is mostly plastic.

You can get an MP-9 much more easily, it's just a TMP with some minor differences.

The KSC/KWA guns I mentioned are MP-9s; I don't know that anyone makes a TMP specifically... Certainly not available in country.

I think that Cybergun makes one...not sure though. However, those are the clear lower quality ones.

KSC used to. It's been replaced in their line up by the MP9 though.

The H&K MP9 is the evolution of the Steyr TMP. H&K purchased the patent for the TMP, of which Steyr had discontinued production, and reissued it as the MP9.

H&K doesn't make the MP9, Brugger + Thomet do.

I'm pretty sure it's the Swiss company Brügger & Thomet, not the German Heckler & Koch that bought the patents and dies for the TMP from the Austrian Steyr, which they now manufacture under the name MP-9.
EDIT: you're faster than my BlackBerry there, Disco!

Correct, B&T makes the MP9. They bought the TMP design from Steyr. Cosmetically the only main difference is the addition of a folding stock and some changes to the fire selector I think.
KSC/KWA make an MP9 currently on their new NS2 system. KSC also made an old MP9 on the NS1 system. Before that KSC had a Steyr TMP and Steyr SPP model, but both werent suited for propane use. The NS1 MP9 was reinforced to handle the higher pressure, whereas the NS2 models are built for propane use. KSC makes a suppressor for the MP9. Its a custom quick-detach design since the flash hider on the MP9 isnt threaded. Theyre impossible to find.though. Most people just fabricate their own, or modify the flash hider to accept regular threaded suppressors

Would you guys suggest I look for an MP9 then, and not bother with the TMP? Are the MP9s better made now? And would the fold-able stock be removable, cause I don't want one.

I think we're saying the only TMP you'll find will likely be old and used. The KSC MP9 may be slightly better than the KWA, partly due to KSC's accurate trades, partly from a hope that they may have fixed the tiny problem the KWAs had with broken feed nozzles (personal experience). As for the folding stock, supposedly it's removable, but I haven't been able to get it off yet (That's what she said!).
