Laser Idea for targeting
I was thinking about hooking up three lasers, or using one laser, with three angled holes, to get that Predator targeting look. Like this, http://feanor.sssup.it/~giorgio/movies/pr-laser.jpg. Lemme know what you think

Well that would look cool, but most Canadian fields won't let you play with lasers. I dunno how the rules are in your area though, you might check a board there before you go to the trouble of making it and not being able to use it... It wouldn't serve much purpose beyond cool factor though since it's not gonna be a real accurate method of targeting...
Good luck with that though. |

You'd have to mod the pressure switch of all 3 laser to trigger them all at once. It would be heavy and unpractical.
One laser is enough. You can estimate range by looking where the dot is compared to your point of aim in your gunsight.

You can get away running all three lasers in parallel. Lasers run on pretty low current. You're not going to overload most pressure switches.
Getting it mounted on your shoulder and hooked up with servo motor control to do the autoaiming stuff. Now that'd be hard.

lol @ Max
I wouldn't bother with it, as mentioned, it is impractical, and if you do succeed in your attempt to create it, it will likely look like ass.

Are you talking about hooking it up to the gun? If that's the case I think it'll look cool Not sure how practical that would be, but definately something that you won't see every day. People will probably freak out from seeing 3 red dots on them

You better get yourself a smoke machine to mount over the lasers aswell otherwise you'll never see the beams.

he doesn't want to see the beams, he just wants the trialgle pattern of 3 dots, instead of one.

Biggest issue I see is getting the lasers perfectly parallel. Laser pointers aren't very precisely mounted in their housings so you'll probably need some feature for individually aligning each laser to be parallel. Out of parallel lasers will diverge and make wierd isosceles patterns.
It could be a neat feature to point each laser inwards slightly so that they meet at a certain distance (say where the bb arcs downwards through an RDS aimpoint). Then you could get some sort of idea of range based on the visible pattern with reference to a targets shoulderwidth. And you could make pretend "laser" sounds when you shoot too: "NEENER NEENEER NEENEEER!"
