TM Ops Tactical .45 Repair

Hey everyone!

I have a TM .45 that is not functioning properly, and I'd really like to get it working.

What happens is that I'll fill the mag with butane and BBs, then when I fire it, the gun will shoot once, cock back, but only half way. There is a hissing sound as the gun is in a semi-cocked position (I believe it's the butane escaping), and I'll have to manually cock it in order to fire again. This happens every time I try to fire the gun. It looks like it is jamming or catching on something, but I don't know what. I have tried lubing the internals but it has not helped.

Has anyone heard of this? If I manually cock the gun it will fire, so I don't think it has a problem loading BBs into the chamber. It just won't cock itself, and it wastes a ton of butane. What can I do?

Thanks!

Well the problem is you're using BUTANE. You should be using PROPANE.

PS: The butane cannot cycle the gun as it is too weak. This is what the "jamming" sounds like to me.

Tell me that's not what it is..omg, I feel like an idiot now.

Can I buy cans of propane like I can butane at Canadian Tire and the like? I've never seen it in that form.

Get the AI Propane Adapter from Airsoftparts.ca (or your local airsoft store, if there's any) and green camping propane tanks from Canadian Tire.

I've dropped quite a bit of silicone lube into it. It was one of the first things I tried.

I'll pick up that adapter and hopefully it'll start working.

Thanks! And you'll hear from me in a few days if it didn't fix my issue :P

Alrighty. Just ordered the propane adapter, should be here Tuesday according to their website. I really hope that solves my issue.

or you have broke your gun due to the much higher pressure of butane , from what i know its called red gas in other circles.

The other guy (ShelledPants) said just the opposite -- that the butane was too low pressure to cycle the gun..

Propane is higher pressure than butane.

Is butane even lower pressure than duster? Was the gun stock?
