Confused about Airsoft Laws and Regs

Hey guys,

I'm planning on buying a new airsoft weapon, the G&G FNC.

I'm livin in the States right now, but will be returning to Canada in 6-7 months. I'm concerned that if I do buy this gun, it will be illegal, or possibly held in customs. I've looked at a Toronto retailer, had the exact same gun with nearly 2 times the price, and I'd rather not pay that.

Cheers, Kieren.

Basically, YOU can't import it. Retailers have taken the time to develop relationships with our border agency to work within the laws and regulations of the country.

Yes airsoft is expensive over here.
No you can't bring your guns.
No we don't discuss the ins and outs of the system with non-AVed people.

It's a great community, and sticker shock only applies to guns, the rest is free market, mostly.

You should qualify that.

Yes you can BUT your gun has to meet certain requirements, those specific requirements are freely available if you take the time to research the CBSA website (hint; it's all documented under Publications Canada).

Sorry I can't spoonfeed you those specific requirements but just know they're freely available if you take the time to research every facet (and still at the end of the day it's up to the individual officers judgement, however you can appeal). Also when crossing the border be upfront with border services don't lie especially about attempting to import airsoft into Canada.
