Need help with AK AIMS Stock Removal

Hey All,

Once again I need the help of Canada's community of gun doctors.

I am trying to remove the folding stock on an AK AIMS and I cannot figure out how to do it. I have searched google for hours and I can't find any info on this type of AEG stock retention system.

Worked with one a few year ago, it was secured to the receiver with a backplate and two metric screws. You'll need to remove the mechbox IOT remove the stock.

Those screws seem to be rivets now.

I have the same and yeah it's rivets... so you need to cut them and then use nuts and bolts...

Do you suppose that this would fit once the stock is removed? It appears to be for the folding stock version

I am no expert here but the groove on top looks like it is for the stock tangs that mount a full wood AK-47 stock.

Indeed, that adapter is for a full stock AK variant.

They both are for full stock variants; once is simply for a TM style stock trunnion like those seen on Tokyo Marui and cheap clone AKs. The other is for newer CA/VFC style AK receivers.

If you want a "tacti-cool" AK, you really need to start off with a full stock model and go from there. At the very least, you are looking at a new receiver + stock trunnion IOT fit either of those adapters on.
