M4-series Stock Names
I've been wondering, what's the name of the 3rd generation stock found on the C7/C8s and older M4s?
This is the 2nd generation stock, known as the "CAR Stock", as it is found on the "CAR-15" series of rifles developed in the '70s. This is the 4th generation stock, known as the "LE Stock", and is the standard today. This is an aftermarket, but commonly used stock known as the "SOPMOD Stock", but in airsoft it is more often called a "Crane Stock". And this is the 3rd generation stock, which doesn't seem to have a name. It is very similar to, but not the same as, the CAR Stock. It is slightly larger and very slightly different visually from the CAR Stock, the most obvious thing is the two small "ribs" between the tube part and the bottom. It was used on the first M4s and is still used as the standard for all of the C7A2s and C8-series, but it doesn't seem to have a name. Can anyone help?

Reminds me somehow of the L11A1 Rifle, IIRC.
