ISO: KA M4A1 info.
Hey, I just recently purchased a KingArms M4A1 and was looking for some advice on which parts should be upgraded. I currently run a 9.6v battery in the gun as recommended. Any help is appreciated, if you know of any good retailers for parts for this gun please share.
Also, feel free to share your photos and custom builds! *P.S please note any defects as well that you may have had with this gun. Cheers |

I recommend airsoftparts.ca and airsoftdepot.ca for all your parts.
You should and will need to buy a weaker spring for it so its field legal. It probably was upgraded to import into Canada wth a 140 spring which would put its fps over 430. Besides that game it a season before you upgrade it. Until you know what it needs to help your style of play every upgrade is a waste. Well except a new hop up rubber.

You shouldn't change anything, except for the spring if it's too hot.

Get the spring to an M110 and change out the piston head (or maybe the piston head thing is just a bad batch or monday gun vs friday gun thing).

There's 3 stock KA M4s on my team, they're all running fine with no upgrades. If you have the cash (or skills to do it yourself), I would suggest getting it wired to the stock so you don't have to fiddle with the battery in the hand guard.

Read the FAQs, get AV'd.
Note that this gun can be tricky to get re-assembled, so for the spring downgrade you may want to go to a gun doctor who has taken these apart before.

I'll echo what others have said.
The only upgrades a newbie should do is ones to replace known bad stock parts, of which the KA has few. Otherwise wait until you know what your gun needs. Upgrading for the sake of upgrading is a bad reason to upgrade.

More like a downgrade for CQB and milsims. KA shoots hot at 440fps out of box.

Stock KA are great guns to start with the only upgrade I did to all my KA (FAL, GALIL, Thompson M1A1 & 1928 Chicago, Troy M4 and M7A1) are swapping the spring to a Modify M90/M110, a better spring guide (some reason they always put a shitty spring guide on it) and a madbull python barrel ALL of them shoots like lasers, the upgrades mentioned above make a great AEG out of the box even better.

when i got my KA m4 it wasn't shooting properly or very well at all.
just got it full assembled and running today and the thing is running like a dream compared to my v4a1. I even notice a ROF increase from the upgrades im assuming. ups/downs: -110 spring (380 fps) - metal bearing spring guide (stock broke) - ball bearing piston head - PSEM piston (stock broke) - madbull hop up buckings also if I were you and this is personal preference but I'd get it rewired to be more accomadating for maintenance. stock it's finicky and tight to take apart thansk to the wiring. adding something like quick disconnects would be beneficial for when you have to dissamsemble the rifle. doing |
