best m1a1 thompson?

So just broke my cyma Thompson this weekend no biggy just wondering what the best brand of Thompson there is. Looking for full metal...pot metal is why this one broke. I have king arms mags so anything that will work with those would be great.

King Arms make a good one. The one readily available everywhere has a metal upper, but plastic lower. It's quite good quality all around.

KA also make a more expensive model that has metal upper and lower, as well as real wood. However, I'm not sure where that one is available. I haven't seen it in Canada.

I've owned them All and by far the KA metal and wood is the best by far! The KA mags have worked for me in any Thompson that I've owned. Best looking and performs well.

Just curious, where did it break?

where the barrel meets the upper....just ahead of the 2 screws dumb me thought the wood grip was just loose so i waited till the end of the day to look closer at it >.>

That barrel problem is a curse on Thompsons. Marui's, CYMA's etc will have the barrel issue. My TM broke clean off. I'm not sure about the wood/metal KA M1A1 though. They may have fixed the design flaw.

I'm just pissed cause i have no freaking idea how i did it lol. Mid game i just noticed my grip seem loose but i remembered taking it off so i figured i just needed to tighten it a bit.

It was probably going to happen anyway. If you just want to fix it, you can use epoxy or whatever to reattach as a temporary fix... doesn't look as purdy though.

Other ways is to recreate the barrel/receiver part and then bolt it in extra hard into the barrel. Kinda like this:



There might be a cleaner way of doing that, but that's the rough idea.

Ive fallen on my Cyma barrel first a few times over the years as well as many drops, and mine doesn't wobble, so don't worry about it too much. It seems that if you sling it barrel down it helps to prevent the problem.

Goddamn Strelok, that is a fine looking gun.
I just bought my first loadout like two and a half weeks ago - a G&G mp5a4 and a px4 for my sidearm. Aaaand I'm already planning a WWII loadout for next year lol.
Has anybody seen a good looking Garand?

That's what I thought. I've had three of my Thompsons do that. It's an easy fix and you may have to repeat it once in a while but once you get it it holds better then it was new. You'll need some cold weld and I used some PVC sheet that I have 10mm thick. It's difficult to explain without pictures.

Oh and you most likely didn't do anything to break it... it's just a very weak spot and will eventually break. My first one broke because I had it slung on my shoulder. Over the years I've learned to keep preasure off the barrel
