Information about sniper riffles

Hi, I'm a Vietnamese. I just moved to Canada few months ago, have never played airsoft before, but I was dreaming about one day I could own for myself a sniper riffles like VSR-10 or L96 (or both). Now I'm ready to buy one with the price around $300-$400.

As I know Canadian Laws don't accept guns imported from outside the country, therefore, I've been searching for Canadian online stores many times and found buyairsoft.ca, what a well-designed website. In its catalogue, I see some sniper guns seem very good looking like this one
https://www.buyairsoft.ca/rifles/spr...0-blk-pkg.html
Does anyone know about C-Tac brand and Buyairsoft.ca site? I will be very appreciated if someone could give me more information about owning a sniper riffle, online stores, and one thing which I'm expecting the most is where to get the guns directly in Montreal.

Thank you all for visiting my thread. Have a good day!

The only thing I know about BuyAirsoft.Ca is their customer service which was really good. I had to cancel an order and the cute girl on the phone was a pleasure to deal with.

I'm not at liberty to disclose that type of information.

Get age verified is what they'll tell you around here.

^Grizzly is right. We won't be able to give you any information on where to buy guns until you are Age Verified (proved that you are over 18 years of age). Please have a read through the FAQs to find your nearest AV representative, meet up and provide some ID. That way you'll get access to a whole lot of retailers who can pretty much get you any gun you want. You'll also get access to the classifieds where you can find other members selling guns and gear.

If you plan on attending public games and such, a lot of people would also recommend that you do NOT get a sniper rifle as your first gun. While a decent sniper rifle costs about $400-500 dollars, you'll have to put in a significant amount of upgrades before you'll have any advantage in range/accuracy over other people using AEGs (automatic electric gun) and gas guns. Anywhere from $400-1000 in additional modifications and such. Otherwise you'll have the same or less range than others using electric/gas guns and they'll have the advantage of full-auto fire, which will leave you severely outgunned. A better option would be to get a DMR type AEG which you can use in semi-auto to snipe, and switch to full auto if you find yourself needing more firepower.

If you would rather stick with a spring sniper rifle, get AV'ed, and you'll be able to get your hands on whatever you wish.

Certain people can run a bolt action sniper rifle as a first gun (I did), but can get totally overwhelmed at first in games to the point of it not being recommended unless used as an occasional gun, with an AEG as a primary to at least learn your style and have fun the first half dozen games, and pull our the rifle when you can get away with it. Get to the point I am, I'm totally comfortable using just my M24 and a pistol in urban environments, find my MP5s to be more a hindrance than a benefit.

While I won't turn anyone away from a sniper rifle as a first gun to game with, at least ask a pile of questions from those that use them often, and don't get totally swayed into believing you need $1000 worth of upgrades in order to go against those that use AEGs, isn't true (hey, if I can get a kill with a thrown piece of chewing gum, even the most basic crap of a gun can get you through a game if you know how to play well).

The entire 'Upgrade the player, not the gun' mentality around here.
