Plastic semi clear bodies on Pistols in Canada

Hey all,

I know this is going to sound like a dum question but well looking at finally buying a airsoft pistol I noticed that all of them for sale on torontoairsoft.com have that plastic body that you can 1/2 see through but on other sites such as ___ the photos dont look as though they are plastic/see though and the description reads metal. Is there some law in Canada that pistols have to have this plastic body? If so then do the ones on ___ have it but are just not pictured? Just trying to understand before I buy. I am also just awaiting my AV status to update on here to get into the classifieds.

Cheers.

Yes, the laws were changed a few months back about importation of guns and their FPS limit. Before the law change pistols had to be translucent in order to be legally imported into the country. Now full metal ones can be imported as long as they are above the new FPS requirement. Wait until your av status goes through before you buy anything thouhg......

Might want to remove the site-links from your original post. Posting those in non-AV sections is against the rules.

Please use the search button and do some research:

1) Translucent/clear/tinted lower receivers are not and were not necessary for legal importation of an airsoft gun (be it pistol or rifle).
2) Translucent/clear/tinted lower receivers have allowed lower velocity airsoft guns to be imported ONLY due to an INTERPRETATION of the law.

Full Metal pistols tend to be more durable and definately more realistic, but price may sway someone towards a tinted lower pistol.
