Post Canada & propane

Hey guys, i am seeking opinions from people who have
done transactions involving propane. IE; i have just sold
a we 45 on the forums, i have supplied one mag with it.
I have filled this mag with propane prior to shipping, so
the seals do not dry out. Is this a good idea considering
that post canada list propane filled devices as prohibited?

An alternative would be to open up the magazine and dump a lot of silicone oil on all the o-rings and valves. It should be enough to keep the o-rings lubed until the package is delivered.

shipped i want to know how often it's been done before

I don't see it being an issue;
For one, they don't know propane's in there
And I doubt the amount is significant in any ways

Also, unless it'd take 3 weeks to deliver, I wouldn't fear for the seals to dry out with or without gaz ...

so you sent an explosive device in the mail.. and after the fact you want to know if it's ok?

I deal with compressed gases for work, I would suggest shipping it empty, if the mag starts leaking while in Canada post hands there could be issue. Better safe than sorry.

Did you send it via air mail or regular post?

Unless the mags are totally crap, there really isnt a need to send them with gas. Decent quality mags shouldn't really dry up in a few days with canada post. But then again we are talking about canada post...

Canada Post Rule:

If you ship the package via air then you can not have compressed gas in it.

Ship via ground and mags with propane in them are fine.

Short story, I was shooting my KJW M700 one Sunday afternoon and ran out of gas to keep my mag going, it was empty. I didn't pick up more propane until Tuesday, filled the mag, it leaked bad! Fixed it with my automotive gasket sealer trick, but still, the point being........... never know how long an empty GBB mag can go without as til it leaks. If anything, I'd empty the entire thing of gas, and spray in a shot of keyboard duster to hold in place, keeps pressure in there and isn't flammable (been a while, but I assume it's not).

I was just curious as the overall experience from people sending propane mags thru mail. Yes it was ground mail, yes my shipping did go thru client, but was still curious on the issue. It was a WE so yeah i soprayed a bit of propane the mag would of fucked up in this 40+ degrees in a truck.

If you are not seeking approval, then do not ask for it

Oh a serious note, it's fine but as others said above if you want to be absolutely 100% sure just ship ground.
