Prep for First Timers Scenario / endurance games

Assuming you have a standard airsoft load out. ie 5 mags (midcap or lower) vest to carry said mags, hydration bladder and camping gear.
What else is critical gear to take to a 18+ hour game?

Flashlight? glow sticks?
I have been to many Scenario paintball games before I saw the light and came to airsoft.
I mainly need to know what I need for the low light/ night time part of the game.

^ Second that, Merrell Sawtooths are like walking on a cloud, lol. Any good hiking boot will do the trick though.

I'd recommend getting a real weaponlight, because they're bright as a mofo and will make your life a lot easier at night. In addition to that, have a dimmer light on your gun or helmet for navigation, and an even dimmer white or red one in a pocket for reading maps/notepads.

You won't need much in the way of camping gear.

- a ranger blanket (don't just lay on the ground)
- water bladder
- pre-planned meals
- good boots (light weight with solid ankle support; "I suggest Oakley SI")
- a warmer layer (possibly a rain poncho)
- flashlight
- dead light (a blinking red light to show your dead in the dark)
- glowsticks are good (mark hazards, or get someones attention)
- extra pair of eyewear (clear and dark, or whatever)
- compass and map (especially if the game area is large)
- radio (with a spare battery and channel list in case of emergency)
- dry socks
- spare gun battery (or gas, or whatever)

There's more, but this is off the top of my head.

Ricochet has great stuff listed...but IMO the absolute best thing you can do is get in touch with your teammates, command lead, etc.

No one should be heading into a good milsim on their own....and it's pointless for 60 guys to show up with 60 of everything (except food/water/basic stuff). Pool your resources for extra hydration, cooking, etc...it'll be a lot easier and everyone will pick up great do's/don'ts for next time.

It'll also help to ensure everyone's ready and prepped well in advance.

That's a good point. We often had a team ruck sac or two. Depending on game style, you can leave your stuff at check points. It's also a good idea to always travel with others. If your attending the game alone, then link up with a group when you get there; there's always teams that need more support. Also if the game field is large, never travel far by yourself; especially at night. If no one knows who you are well, then you could disappear into a hole in the dark and not be found. That's why radios and being "a part" of a group is paramount.
