Stupid Questions About Importing Parts

Hi
I'm a complete noob when it comes importing parts as I pretty much buy all my airsofts locally.
I have a friend of mine in Japan who had quit airsoft and is selling me his Tokyo Marui Samurai Edge. I want it but I do know most of the laws regarding importing airsofts to Canada is preventing me from importing it as a whole.

All I care about is the slide, grip and pretty much the outside look of the gun (Big fan of the Resident Evil series). I don't really care about the inside like the receiver and such.
What I am asking is if my friend takes apart the gun and sends the parts separately, would I get in trouble with the CBSA? Also which part of the pistol are allowed to cross customs with no problems at all?

Keep in mind that I am not going to keep the internal workings of the airsoft pistol as I know part of it is illegal in Canada such as the receiver. From what I heard from my friend, part of the gun is metal so I am not sure if I can import the parts safely to Canada.

Can you guys with your infinite wisdom in airsoft help out?

Also I read somewhere on the forum that CBSA has changed their laws this year about importing full metal airsoft guns. From what I read is that we can import them as long as they don't go over or under a certain FPS. Is this true?

The magic number your looking for is 366FPS. I have yet to see a TM shoot that high stock.

Don't ask questions like this. It's okay, I've asked dumb questions like this too. Read the FAQ. Anyway, I can say maybe. I know someone who has been using the dis assemble feture on evike. He has tons of guns from there. Most people will say the opposite of this, but I know from same one else's experience that it can work. But people say buy locally for a reason. Buy a WE M9 with a long barrel and wood grip. I wish I could tell you where, but a site is selling them for really cheap, and it's Canadian.

Edit: I checked the site and they're out of stock and I'm not sure if they're going to restock them. Maybe you can find one.

There's absolutely no comparison there. That's like recommending dirt instead of lobster.

tell your friend to upgrade the gun till it shoots 366+ FPS

extended inner barrel with silencer adapter, high output valve, nozzles, and piston head.

use propane. Then pray to god the gun doesn't break after the first mag. lol

I thought just upgrading it to 366+FPS would do.
Why add the other parts to it?

Agreed! There is no comparison between a Resident Evil Samurai Edge with WE. I had experiences with WEs in the past and I can say, will not get another one ever!

Still, I'm thinking it's slightly better to ship it piece by piece...
Not very sure right now...

Has anyone ordered a full pistol and it got passed customs?

That's.....how you get the increased FPS. There's no "FPS dial" you can just crank up.
