Black Talon Concepts Chimera Mosfet
So, As many of you were saying that its still in pre production and beta testing, ITS NOT ANYMORE, they've actually been released for a while and now they are officially out if.
Its out now and people are selling them I hope Airsoftparts.ca or Stealth's Airsoftstore.ca can get them in http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Bl...h-t256589.html http://forums.airsoftmechanics.com/i...ic,6908.0.html (Note the 2nd one u need an account on airsoft mechanics to view) I shall list the Stuff "Frank" the creator and owner of black talon industries explained about the chimera MOSFET Trigger - Eliminates damaging electrical arcing of the trigger switch contacts. - Lower resistance compared to mechanical switching, increasing motor current. - Driven by a IRLS3034-7PPBF, the world's most powerful D2PAK-style MOSFET! Dynamic Braking - Eliminates the motor spin-down time to prevent the piston from over-traveling. - Assists in keeping the piston properly reset to reduce stress on the gearbox. - Prevents double firing on semi-fire in extremely high RoF setups. - Also driven by the powerful IRLS3034-7PPBF MOSFET! Cycle Completion - Gearbox always completes the last cycle regardless of when the trigger is released. - Assists in keeping the piston properly reset to reduce stress on the gearbox. - The motor will always have the smoothest and most consistent startup. - Allows the anti-reversal latch to be removed. Fully Configurable Fire Select - Both selector positions can be individually configured. - Available options for each selector position: - Semi fire - Auto fire - 2 round burst - 3 round burst - Burst-auto hybrid - "Burst-auto hybrid" fires in burst and switches to full auto if the trigger remains held down. - Can convert any AEG to semi-only by having both selector positions set to semi fire. Adjustable Precocking - Precocking stops the piston in a compressed state so the next shot is near-instantaneous. - The precocking is fully adjustable and thus also compatible with short-stroked pistons. - Offers improved realism and trigger response for sniper or low RoF builds. Delay-based RoF Control - Every cycle runs at full speed and pauses between each shot to reduce the RoF. - More power efficient, less heat, more realistic, and better sounding than typical PWM-based RoF control. LiPo / LiFePO4 Monitoring - Monitors LiPo and LiFePO4 batteries to cutoff power before overdischarge occurs. - Simply set the number of cells and the controller will use the proper cutoff voltage.

EDIT: The pricing information we got was the RETAIL price, there has previously been a mix-up between BlackTalon and us. This is all cleared up now. Retail price is currently set at $100.
We were actually one of the beta testers and gave Frank some feedback on the unit, it's nice but the feature-set is a bit overkill for 95% of users. Not to say we can't or won't carry it, because we have immediate access. If there's sufficient interest, we'll make it happen. Last edited by Stealth; June 28th, 2013 at 03:17.. |

This is for V2 gearbox only right? Are they working on something for the V3s?

The unit that sits outside is not small though, so it would have to be a fullstock configuration. Last edited by Stealth; October 22nd, 2012 at 14:52.. |

In the meantime, here's a comparison between the Chimera and the Cheetah, maybe MaciekA can comment.

Black Talon need to make smaller units in the future. There is only so much room in a AEG.
Also being microswitch based, they should include or offer a trigger so you can adjust the stop points, pull and travel points, and tension. The stock trigger can still break the switch if you accidentally pull to hard. Last edited by SuperHog; October 22nd, 2012 at 19:09.. |

On the Chimera Mk.I, the gearbox shell stops the trigger long before the switch can be broken. With the Mk.II, good luck damaging the switch without breaking the trigger first! Last edited by Blacktalon; September 26th, 2013 at 16:17.. |

what would be awesome would be if the trigger board used a tact switch instead of the micro switch. having that tactile feedback through the trigger would be a welcomed change.
i'm using the original 2nd gen Raptor board, and the whole reason I got the raptor was for its compact foot print. I used to own a couple of the EF boards and dropped them the moment I found out about the raptor. being that I run a VFC 416, space for batteries let alone a mosfet is very limited, so with a buffer tube battery along with the raptor has been the best solution so far. the only physical fault with the raptor is the micro switch, and if it was designed to use a tactile switch, I would love them that much more. I see that the new spectre fet is as compact as the raptor, and it looks like it may be possible to replace the micro switch with a tactile one. so guess things have improved. if my raptor dies, i'll be grabbing one of those spectres. http://www.e-switch.com/product/tabi...h/default.aspx http://www.made-in-china.com/showroo...y-A03-04-.html http://www.heilind.com/products/e-sw...e_switches.asp
