TM M9A1 slide is stuck slightly back (won't go into battery)

Hi guys,
I have a TM M9A1, and I was absentmindedly pulling the slide back while I watched TV, to practice releasing the trigger just enough for the trigger to reset, by holding the trigger back and cocking back the slide with it still pulled fully back. There was no mag inserted, nor was there a BB in the chamber, so the following problem was not a result of the gun doing a blowback cycle.

Anyway, while I was doing this, the slide seems to have gotten stuck so that it won't slide forward all the way, and the back of the slide hangs back over the beaver tail by a little under a cm. It's as though there's something stuck holding the slide from going all the way forward. Essentially it is stuck out of battery. I can put up a picture when I get home if it helps. I can pull the slide all the way back, it just doesn't go forward again.

Pulling the trigger doesn't release the hammer or cause the slide to unjam itself (as would be expected), nor does racking the slide, pushing the slide lock down, or inserting/removing a mag. And again, there was no BBs to get jammed anywhere.
I cannot remove the slide/move it forward if I turn the slide release either.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I looked around and couldn't find much on this topic. When I search for the slide getting stuck, the threads are always about the gun not cycling, and when I specifically search in regards to not going into battery, I get stuff about electrical batteries.

Anyway, any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Strange.

Might be something like your blowback housing getting caught up on the rear frame/firing pin parts.

Thanks for the suggestion Styrak (sorry for the late reply, I didn't notice this thread got a reply), but it wasn't that.

I feel blind and retarded. I showed shelledpants on Friday, and he took a quick look, and pointed to a BB that was stuck at the rear of the frame. I guess I had a BB in the chamber, and it rolled back after I slid the slide back a few times.

So that's all it was. =/
