Question: BAXS on Tanfoglio Limited
I picked up a Tanfoglio Limited CO2 about 2 months ago, and really like it. But I'm having a hard time trying to adjust the hop-up to its minimum setting. I'm new to airsoft, and the BAXS hop-up wheel on this gun doesn't show which way to turn to increase or decrease the setting. I tried both extremes - full-forward and full-back - but see almost no change in the point of impact, the shots are still elevated by about 1" from 5-6 yards.
I use this gun for IPSC practice in my basement when I have no time to take my firearms to the range. So I only need the gun to shoot straight at 5-6yards. Is there a way to disable the hop-up completely? TIA. P.S. My rear sight is already at the bottom of its travel. |

Just to let you know, "BAXS" is a fancy marketing term that Crosman/Cybergun or whatever uses for "hop up". Anyways, sounds like the nub on the hop up is somehow messed up. Maybe you need to take it down and take out the nub so that it can't depress the bucking to create backspin?
From what I understand it's a KWC OEM. I don't know what system its based off of or if it's their own proprietary system but it should be easy enough to take it down and take out the hop up nub or whatever gives the BB's backspin.

I took out the bracket that depresses the bucking, but saw very little difference, if any.
I also tried heavier .28g BBs, and they shoot lower - but the accuracy is dismal compared to my regular .25gBBs, the groups are about 3 times the size, even though .28g is IPSC Precision from Mad Bull. Does the hop-up play ANY role at short distances? If I were to try .20g BBs would these fly even higher? TIA. OK I think my hop-up wasn't working at all. I had to bend the bracket a bit, and now have decent (under 1") group size with both .25g and .28g BBs at 7yds. Still almost 1" higher than POA but I guess I'll have to live with that.
