Thumbs up G and G Combat Machine Series CM16

Hey ladies and gents, i thought i would post up a review regarding a low end G and G Airsoft Gun, as it is so easy to look across the spectrum of reviews and find guns that lie within the 300-800 dollar spectrum, but i wanted to kind of break that trend by reviewing this gun that runs 169.99 Brand new out of the box.

What you get for 169.99?
1--- 1 G and G CM16 Carbine (essentially a M4 Carbine style)

2--- 1 450 Round High Capacity Magazine ( Made by G and G armament with 5.56x 45 markings)

3--- 1000 G and G Tournament Grade Airsoft BB's 0.20 Gram

4---1 8.4 Volt Nunchuk style battery (this fits within the hand guard)

5--- 1 Cleaning Rod

6--- 1 Instruction manual and catalogue

7---1 G and G smart charging unit with indicator light

After opening up the box i was amazed by what it came with as most guns within this price range come with chargers that are of low quality, so getting a smart charger that allows you to charge your batteries safely is a big plus right out of the box. The BB's that come with the gun are what i used for conducting all the initial tests when i got it originally, they appeared to have no seams, great shape and upon cutting them open there was very little to no air bubbles within them, overall a good BB to shoot for testing and other possible uses such as play. The battery as a stock 8.4 v battery gives a reasonable amount of response when firing as the difference is obviously milliseconds between electric guns and gas guns trigger response time, with the gas guns obviously having a better response time. An upgrade to a 9.6 V battery could assist in a quicker response time on the trigger. The cleaning rod is pretty standard and is usable when conducting general maintenance on the gun's barrel.

Now for the Gun:

Externally:

Within a first look at the gun, all the externals are made of a VERY durable polymer composite and it looks very realistic with the law enforcement style extendable stock and the battery inside the hand guard. (As much as this is a gun that shoots 6 mm bb's all air soft guns should be treated as loaded REAL firearms as they are defined as such "Weapons" within the criminal code. this means proper storage, safe use and respect for such uncontrolled firearms.)
This thing truly feels durable, despite the fact that it is not "FULL METAL", i have landed on it, and weighing in at 250 pounds and sliding for a good foot or 2 on it with very little to no damage to the gun at all speaks volumes to the quality of the build, whether its polymer or " FULL METAL". You can feel that the grips on the gun feel great, there are 2 sling mounts on it that work well with whatever sling you may choose ( 1 2 and 3 point slings will rock on this). Everything else on this gun absolutely feels like it is heavily rated Polymer, everything from the decisive sound of the semi-auto-safe switch clicking to the lack of wobble within the stock shows that quality control has been done right externally. Its also important to note this gun was made in Taiwan by G and G, which they are known for having higher then normal quality control for a asian manufacturer.

Internally:

The internals are all stock G and G, high speed G and G motor, version 2 gear box with copper bushings. The only bad thing i have heard about this gun would be the piston head, which is known to break down over time. I havent done too much work regarding the gear box as i have had no issues 8000 rounds in. (if it isn't broken, why fix it?) I did take it a part once and everything looked good.

Overall

This is arguably one of the best guns in its price range, the G and G internals are remarkably good for the price you are paying and i have used mine for 8000+ rounds with no issues whatsoever, i even fell on the thing with no wear or damage issues!

The gun shoots a stock 390 FPS 12 Rounds per second out of the box, i have downgraded the spring to a M90 which fires at 300 FPS at about 14 rounds per second.

This is the perfect starter gun that can get someone in the game with a reliable M4 carbine style AR. I am not one to shoot 100 rounds with a gun and do a full review of it, but after 8000 rounds i feel that this thing has stood the test of use and abuse, and can say nothing but good thing about this gun, its consistent at the chrono, accurate, compact and hasn't failed me yet!

if you have any questions regarding the gun feel free to post or PM!

Will Post Pics!

I ended up getting the G&G GC16 all metal rifle. It`s the advanced version of the cm16. The store that I deal with would`nt be able to get the cm16 for a while. So far the gc16 is great.

These are an excellent value,(my brother has two) the stock hop up rubber is plastic-y and doesn't handle the cold. They are easy to change and then the gun is a beast.

Thanks for the add on fortunately I don't play outside much but if I start I definitely will change that rubber! Little update, it's seen 15,000 rounds at this point and now has a aim point mounted on it and a little light, the thing has been shooting a consistent 330-+2 fps for cqb play, no problems yet!

did you downgrade the spring for CQB, I thought this gun shoots at 395 stock?

My short version shoots 370 stock and 380-385 with my longer inner and new hop-up and rubber.
