Mask, Mesh, Goggles? What and why?

Hey guys, another question regarding masks, safety, and just plain old acceptable gear.

As my original thread indicated I am looking at getting gear to play, I really like the idea of running goggles/glasses only as I used to play paintball and from some LE training I realize the benefit from using goggles only rather than a full face mask (fogging/breathing/heat etc.)

My question is are proper safety goggles/glasses allowed? if so where? and do most fields such as PRZ allow this or no?

Thank's, just want to make the right purchase. I do realize the benefit to wearing a full face mask as well as I dont want a hole in my cheek (I do realize this is never intentionally done as Airsofters attempt to avoid close-quarter headshots)

****

Immediately on finishing this post I found this resource http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=58784

I apologize about not reading this thread entirely before making a post.

Done to death bud. Try searching.

But I use mesh. Full face. Fencing type mask.

Some say their no good. But I've not read about a blind airsofters due to mesh yet.

And I hate fogging.

I also use mesh goggles, paintball goggle shape, keep im mind alot of fields do not allow theese.
and ne sure noone is usein cilica or bio bb's as they will shatter if they hit yer mesh then you can lose an eye, any field that is a paintball field will not allow anything but paintball goggles, no field will require you to wear a full mask for airsoft, even a paintball field just mind your smiling if you catch a bb in the teeth youll likely need dental work.

Like Priest said there is a ton of topics.

Goggles (ballistic or paintball rated) are pretty much the standard thing. Most guys will run goggles and a mesh lower for things like CQB and usually just a shemagh, mouth guard or nothing for outdoor games and some will opt for full protection.

Most places require full seal goggles like ESS profiles, Revision Desert Locusts, and Smith OTW's just to name a few. There are some places the will require a paintball mask but it's not very common.

I just use glasses outdoors.

Indoors I'll use goggles, with a mesh half face shield strapped to my helmet.

I wish they would just stop making mesh goggles, they are sh*t to see thru and chances are someone in the game will be using bio bb's. If you happen to take a shot to the goggles exploding bb dust in the eye will be the least of your problems!
Pick up a pair of Revision locusts, they can be had for about $25 online. Just remove the foam around the venting area to ensure they don't fog up on you.
Don't take your chances only wearing a pair of safety glasses. Wear full seal or your just inviting the grim one from taking one of your eyes!

Could you post me up some threads of airsofters blinded? Lots of people say this. Never really heard of it.
If you don't like them. Don't buy them.

You obviously have never taken a direct hit from a bio bb to a metal mesh. If you had you would know that they often times shatter into dozens of small pieces. Your right I dont like them and wont wear them. I will be one of the SMART ones.

i hate fog but i use those "sun glasses style" goggles, pretty confortable and light. Never had any problems. The one i have is a daisy C4 replica , something like that. I bought a extra pair to shoot at it from 1meter distance test and all it does is light chippings.

Scott goggles because we play in the paintball field and the field require us to wear goggles.

BB dust is of little concern with mesh... I'd be concerned with Bios going through the mesh outright. I've seen it happen in a worst case scenario test on a mesh mask with bioval and madbull bios.

clean through.
