1911 mags

So, I purchased just a straight forward 1911 the other day, and decided it needed some spare mags. Every where was out of stock, and eager to get going, I didn't want to wait for them to get more in. What I did instead is found a website that sold 1911 and mags and purchased a couple. They are on their way and I'm excited to receive them but while reading some stuff on the internet, I read that MEU mags cannot be used in a regular old 1911, is this true? If so I totally just spent $100+ on unusable mags. In the photos they look identical but I read that they valve is slightly different. Please tell me this is a nightmare!

That's BS. Whomever said that doesn't know what they're saying... as long as we're talking about Tokyo Marui here. I don't know about other brands.

No idea about that. All I know, is that KJW clones off of Marui, but in my experience, it's not an accurate clone. Generally, there are fitment issues between the two platforms for some parts of the gun.

No comment on the mags. I haven't any real personal experience with their 1911 series. Sorry.

Well thank you for at least replying. I'm going to cross my fingers and wish real hard that they are compatible!

If its the KJW KP07 that you're talking about then yes, the TM/TM clone mags do fit into it. I'm saying this from being an owner of one.

Thank god! That's a load off my chest. I do want to start a 1911 collection, and an MEU was on the list but I didn't want to have to expedite the process.

Another "yes" for the compatibility.

That's interesting... I was sure that these mags would be compatible. I used to own a KP-07. What is it about the magazines that don't fit?

Edit: Actually, upon looking at the two different magazines, the only difference I could find is their colour and baseplate. Other than that, to me, they look identical...

Perhaps you could modify them in some way?

The lip (i think that's what its called) gets stuck on the inside of the slide lock, not letting the mag be fully inserted. The lip is very wide on each side compared to the one it came with

The rest, however, is exactly the same. The valves line up as do the little part where the mag release clips on

Like I said, they are pretty much exactly the same. except for what you said. The lip or feeding thing though is a touch too wide. I'll try to sand the, down

I was actually referring to the baseplate, on the bottom of your magazine where your fill valve is located.

I believe you are referring to the feed lips, on the top of the magazine.
