What's with this G&P M4A1?

I've only found 1 review on the G&P M4 Commando. (Although I don't want the commando version)

I can't find any sites that sell the gun. The G&P site doesn't even have it.

Anyway I got a few questions about it. Googling it and useing the search on ASC did very little for me.

1) Can you get it in a fixed stock, and/or RIS version. (M4A1 not commando)

2) Can anyone give me a link to a place that sells it or a review?

I also read in a review that these parts need to be changed...

1. Motorplate – replaced the superglued original motorplate for a TM plate
2. Nozzle – replaced with a Systema Airseal nozzle for M4A1
3. Shims – reshimmed the gears with Systema shims
4. Hopup – replaced the G&P one-piece hopup for a Systema ditto
5. Motor – replaced the TM EG700 with a TM EG1000 motor for higher ROF
6. Switch assembly and selectorplate – Replaced with Systema low resistance switch assembly and Prometheus Hard selector plate for added security
7. Hopup bucking – replaced with a Guarder bucking (no real reason aside from my personal preference J)

If I bought it I would likely replace those parts before even firing it. Anything else you found wrong with the gun that you would replace right away?

specarms.com sells G&P AEGs.

from what i have gathered, they are preupgraded metal AEGs with bad internals...lol

they run about 650CAD plus shipping if im correct.

...and yes, fixed stock, retractable, commando, and RIS are available!

also, it would be nice to hear from others that own a G&P. maybe write a review .

I have a fixed stock M4A1 and I love it. Plenty of room for large sized batteries (much more free space for fuse and such compared to TM m16's).

The stock fps is nice, but not necessary at all. It's a bit of a pain having to downgrade a stock spring. It would be nice if it was just around 330 but mine shoots 375-395. For an m4, which is supposed to be used in different environments such as CQC, I don't feel comfortable shooting people even on semi inside structures.

Metal body is very solid though.

Ok, due to the lack of information on the G&P M4A1 I will give you a brief overview of this AEG. I have the retractable stock version. The gun is heavy and very realistic. The body, carry handle, barrel, sights and flash hinder are full metal. The fore grip, handle and retractable stock piece are plastic, although the fore grip seems more heavy-duty than a typical TM and may be fiber-glass or a composite. It is reinforced with small aluminum plates on the inside. Overall the gun is much sturdier than other versions I have tried and could be thrown about 5 feet onto rocks and survive without breakage. It is flat black in colour, not grey. The threaded barrel is clockwise, not counter clockwise like most TM AEGs. The internals do not require modification. The gun works fine and its rate of fire with a 9.6V 1700mah nicd is very good and comparable to a stock AK. My G&P came pre-modded shooting around 400fps with a PDI 190%. Its gears are reinforced. It has a full one-piece hop-up which works fine. It hits pretty hard, but even at 30 ft doesn’t draw blood. Hurts a bit more obviously but is safe enough for private games (check with your club for limits). The EG700 does the job. If you were to swap it out for an EG1000 you would notice only a marginal improvement at best. The motorplate was NOT superglued as someone else had previously mentioned. The original motorplate is perfectly fine. The nozzle is a tight seal nozzle, and again, does not require modding to function well. The shims and barrings are metal. The switch assembly works perfectly. It is as smooth as any stock TM M4/M16. Bottom line, I have replaced nothing on this gun. It works perfectly and has passed around 10,000rnds with only 2 misfires, both of which were my own fault. The range is comparable to any other modded AEG that shoots are the same speed. The G&P M4A1 has been as reliable as any of my stock TM guns and fire a lot harder. The sound it makes when firing is really not that different from any other AEG. I find that different guns are louder or sound different, typically according to motor. For example the ICS2000 motor seems to screech. Anyway I ramble. Bottom line is that you do not need to make any changes to the gun out-of-the-box aside from maybe a spring downgrade. It is solid as a rock and has been as reliable as anything else I’ve used. Everyone I know that has tried it has added it as the next gun they’re buying on their list. Other than what I’ve mentioned, it really isn’t anything radically new – very similar to other M16/M4 variants.

PS: What kind of RIS would you put on it? Not the CQB one.

Also, could you buy an M16(Longer) outer barrel and matching RIS for it and fit it on?

No it's a G&P. I was just wondering if there was one that came with a full stock and RIS. But I think I may get an ICS instead.

Yea I think that's what I'll do. I would be down-grading the G&P anyways. And with ICS you get the working forward assist and T-Handle. And the split gearbox so I can purchase an upper with a PDI 150% and interchange them easily.

I plan on having a bi-pod and full stock on it, so it will be quite big and heavy, so I plan on maybe purchasing a P90 as well.
