Aug selector switch: follow me for a sec....

I can't take credit for this mod as this aeg came to me used


Playing with my mil aug. I was moving the safety switch when I noticed it had 3 stopping points.

What the heck? the other augs don't do that.

I push it to the middle position and pulled the trigger to see if would fire or not. The trigger would only pull back far enuf to shoot in semi. Interesting.

I push it all the way to the normal firing position and pulled the trigger. semi/ auto no problem. Back to normal.

The middle position allows for semi only. Was this normal? Maybe the older augs had this feature and it was later removed because it was redundent.

I took the saftey bar out to check. The former owner made a third grove for it to lock in place and cut 1/2 the thickness (enuf for the trigger to slide back for semi) on the top next to the other grove.

Follow diagram. X is a grove. This is top of the safety bar.

It did not come from the factory like this but was modded. Very cool.

I remember a semi only game. I forgot and pulled all the way back into full auto which is naturely when you know you have a person lined up far away with no cover. I was soon wondering after that if I could disable the full auto to prevent future mistakes.

btw: Are P90's like this? They have a selector switch and an aug like trigger?

sorry to revive an old thread, but what about the hole that's in the safety thingy? Was that cut out too? Can you measre how deep and long the cut is? 'Cause during night games here it's semi-auto only, and it is really hard to keep firing on semi in a firefight

It is sold. I didn't measure it.

Just make the new groove in between the other two and cut away until it works.

With some swearing and poking myself with a shart knife i managed to make myself a true select fire AUG

its a pretty simple 'mod' idea, but you can stop the 'twang' of the foregrip moving if you stuff it with tissue paper or the like
