CYMA M14 EBR Motor type problem

Hello all - I'm in kind of a jam.

So I searched the internet and everywhere I go, everyone says the version 7 gearbox uses a SHORT TYPE motor. So I buy a short motor and open up my CYMA m14 ebr only to notice that the stock motor looks like a long type! (check the picture)

Did I make a mistake in my research? I could have sworn that a v7 uses a short type motor - am I wrong? Will I need to buy a new motor?

I'm relatively new to modding so let me know if I missed something - any help is appreciated!

The standard M14 V7 does use a short motor so far as I can tell, Maybe the EBR uses a different motor cage and motor type.

Anybody 100% on this I'd like to know.

Here are some pictures of the cage. This looks like a long type. Youtube vids of the V7 cyma m14 (NOT EBR) show the cage being much shorter.

Would this classic army cage be compatible, you figure? The screws seem like they'd line up, but it's probably safer to just exchange the motor eh?

CA and tm clones are pretty much completely different mech boxes. I highly doubt that will work.

Alright - so To sum up my findings:

- Most cyma m14s have short motors in the v7.
- The EBR version uses a LONG TYPE.
- Most websites out there that say the EBR uses a short type are WRONG and are probably stealing innacurate data from eachother that is based on either a basic CYMA M14/socom, or just TM.

If anyone can add anything, that would be great. This thread and my issue have been resolved. Hope this helps any other current or future cyma m14 ebr owner
