1911 W/o Grip safety
I'm here to see if anyone knows of a company that makes a 1911 that does not have one of those gawdawful grip safeties. Preferably a single stack mag, as well. Basically, I'm looking for a true 1911A1. I've been looking for well over a year now, and have yet to find one, and I'm beginning to wonder if they even exist. If you do know of one, please let me know, and I will love you forever ;D

Pretty sure the G and G Extreme 45 has a non functioning grip safety if that's what you're after! It also only holds 15 rounds so I assume it is a single stack mag.

Why would you want a 1911 without the grip safety?

Hmmm 1911A1 has a grip safety me thinks... it's just not protecting the hammer when cocked.
Anyhow, Socom Gear makes a nice one. You could always just mod the exising safety to be non-working. |

You can just mod it to disable the grip safety, it's not that big of a deal...
The G&G Extreme 45 is so far from being a 1911... it's not a 1911. It'd be closer to a Para Ordnance 45 with that god awful trigger system. |

A grip safety was part of the original military specifications for the 1911, and was present in the A1 model so a true 1911A1 would have a grip safety.

You can pin or tape the grip safety in place if you don't like it. It's not exactly unheard of for real shooters to do it.

Hmm.... For some reason I remember hearing that the grip safeties were not on the original guns... And I know I've seen one or two without them... well, thanks for the info. Some modding shall be done!

Also, in reply to moz_boz, I find the grip safeties annoying and ugly.

The only company that makes a 1911 without grip safety is the WESTERN ARMS NOVAK NEXT.
The company WE makes a "novak next" cept its not a proper replica as they just re-trade marked their 1911 and it still has the grip safety. Western arms version http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/wa-gbb-no...-5inch-sv.html I wont bother to dig up a pic of the WE version. Its easy enough to find For a true 1911 without a grip safety this is your ONLY option.

Nine Ball also makes a low profile beavertail that disengages the grip safety function. This would be the more expensive option versus pinning or modding your existing grip safety.

Or consider a different pistol since so few feature a grip safety. This seems like a really complicated route to get something simple.

Is not the complicated route to a simple result the ethos of airsoft?
A Browning P-35 is a very similar pistol with no grip safety.
