Pistol problem
I drop my pistol on the concrete floor and of course now it doesnt work properly. It will fire once but the slide stays in the back position. I can pull it back a little more and then it will recock and I get one more shot. Does this mean my gun is toast or do you think it's just something out of place or needs a new part. Sorry for being vague about it but thats the best description I can give you. Oh its a compact HK.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

Weird, I launched my USP compact on a concrete floor and it slid 60ft, worked fine lol
Chances are you bent something, most likely on the outside but you never know. Look for crush marks, find out where the pistol hit the floor and post a pic |

USP Comp
I have checked the gun and I don't see any real impact marks anywhere. So I'm thinking that some plastic part in the gun might have broken off??

Then you should strip down the pistol and check for internal damage or lose parts.

Unsure
Thats a good plan, I will do that for sure. I'm just not sure what to look for, an obvious brake is one thing but something being slightly off is another. I will report back once I have pulled her apart.
Thanks for the help guys. |

Start with breaking it down to its 2 main components slide assembly and lower receiver check for lose or damaged parts. If you don't find any detail strip the slide, check your barrel, recoil spring and guide, and check your blow back unit to make sure its functioning properly. Just keep going till you find whats wrong.

UGH
Okay I stripped both my Compact and Full sized USP side by side. Started by pulling the slide off and there is no difference between the two pistols. So I stripped the barrel and recoil spring off and again no differences. I guess I need to find a gun Doc in Ottawa that is good with GBB Pistols.
The only difference that I have noticed is the slide is just a little bit more loose than my other USP. Thanks again for all your help guys! If you have any other suggestions keep em coming. |

Did you remove your blow back unit and check for cracks or deformities. The impact could have knocked the blow back return spring out of place.

BLOW Back
Can you describe what the blowback unit looks like? Is that the black plastic bit that holding onto the spring or is it attached to the frame or the slide? Sorry I'm a noob with GBB pistols!

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Itll look like a box attached to the rear bottom of the slide and will have the nozzle and such inside it along with the floating valve piston head tyoe thing and some springs and such

I don't want to be rude, but after seeing all your questions, I think it is better for you to go and check for help from an airsmith. he will give you a professional opinion about your problem. if you don't know the parts of the gun, it is hard to receive help from people over the ASC forum.

DOC
You explained it beautifully! There was a little bend on the front lip. I bent it back and now it fires just fine! Thank you guys for all your help! This, to me is what the ASC is all about. You put a question out there, you get great people helping you out so you can have a hands on repair of your "tools".
My next step would have been gun doc. But no need now! I guess I should look for a replacement part. |
